The Undefeated: Hail Colorado!

UNC falling (badly) to State isn't exactly a knock-me-over-with-a-feather moment.

The last two Undefeated teams are both from the Pac-12.

They have a conference game scheduled for 23 Jan, though unlikely they are both still undefeated by then.

After a PAC Friday night, both remain undefeated.

Can they keep it up five more games until they face each other in their head-to-head on January 23? ( Colorado plays Stanford on the 14th)

No chance
Using Massey for both Arizona and Colorado the estimated chance is 1.1% of both being undefeated when they meet.

Which is small, but I prefer a 'low chance' (1 in 100) over a 'no chance'.

The Reverse Cumulative Win % shows the chance if previous game(s) are won.

Arizona in some trouble against USC. Had a 9 point lead early but now trailing approaching halftime.

Down goes AZ on the road at Trojans. Multiple dagger threes put them away. So it goes but I was hoping they’d come into Eugene undefeated.

What? You want AZ to beat OSU? I'm so upset now, I won't be able to post again for at least 30 seconds.
Nah… fine to see AZ lose two in Oregon. I wasn’t sure the AZ-OSU game was back on. Glad to see the Beavs back on the hardwood.

Winless down to 6 after Siena's win over Iona tonight.

3 of the remaining are MEAC -- NC Central, Del St, SoCar St -- so at least two of them will get wins soon enough.

The other 3 are Detroit, LIU Brooklyn, and UHart.

LIU is favored in 3 of their games & Detroit in 1 (acc to Massey).
UHart, had 1 win last year and will likely be even worse as it transitions to D3. It has lost its game by an average margin of 26 pts. (Only 2 games within 10.)

Huge shout out to Colorado!!
Well, as much as it pains me to say JR Paine has done a good job (see what I did there?), she has done well but her first real test will be on Friday against Stanford where a good showing will prove they are for real. That doesn't mean they have to win but show they can compete as a valid top 25 team.

They always seem to play Stanford tough, even in seasons when they are very much mediocre. I'm not sure that another close game against Stanford would really prove anything. Just business as usual. Staying in the upper third of the conference standings over the next month or more would be the proof we're looking for.

Yeah, I also wonder how Colorado does next year once Hollingshead finally graduates. That being said, finishing in the upper third of the PAC 12 would be a big step forward for JR Payne and her staff. I’m cautiously optimistic that it can happen, but there’s a lot of basketball yet to be played.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s Colorado v. Stanford game. Torn. like Stanford and pull for them for Gamecock SOS reasons at present.

But I love an underdog. Go Buffs.

If Jaylyn Sherrod continues to do her best impersonation of Aari running around the court with few turnovers, I expect Stanford to have an extremely difficult time.

I don't think history will repeat. No undefeated POWER 5 WBB teams after this game concludes.

Probably not, but it's fun to speculate.

It's gonna' have my attention on a Friday night.

Colorado out - no undefeateds left

But a few perfect teams remain -- 5 teams that are winless following LIU's win over Central.
3 of them are MEAC so at least two of them will win a game
