It’s still a great stadium to watch a game at. Good views. Easy access. Just needs a little power washing and some minor concrete repairs. It’s perfect for where the program is situated. Get some wins in there in it will come back to life.
Agreed. A good way to tell who is full of it here are the fans who whine non stop about THE RENT and it not being on campus. These people clearly don't go to the games to begin with and than tell us (who do go) people won't go unless it is on campus. Usually using cliches like "atmosphere" and "we will never be taken seriously!".
1. Every seat in the Rent is a great view of the field
2. The entire parking lot and tail gaiting scene gives you the college atmosphere feel that the on campus brigade claims is lacking. Basically revealing they don't even go to the games and are talking out of their you know what.
3. The stadium is easy to get out of. I went to a men's soccer game 2 weeks ago in Storrs and it took me close to an HOUR to get out of the garage. Less than 1,000 people were at that game.
The stadium is not even in the top 10 problems of this program and the obsessive focus on having an on campus stadium distracts from focusing on the truly important issues facing this program. "We will never be taken seriously with an off campus stadium!" Oh please. Maybe we should try hiring a staff, investing in the program, and winning games to accomplish that? You know. What we did playing in the RENT between 2003-2011.
