The Official Tourney Thread

Worst first round of the tournament I can remember. Hardly any close games and all chalk.
Only one major "upset", and it was the one everybody picked anyway, MTSU over Minny. I think they're the only true mid major left (I don't count teams like Cincy, Gonzaga, URI, Wichita, and St. Mary's as true mid majors. They are more a sort of tweener). Only 6 teams from the bottom of the bracket are in the round of 32. One 12, three 11s, one 10, and one 9. This is what a P5 only tournament will feel like.

Wasn't it at one time a court-based channel?
Yes, Court TV, focused on court proceedings and crime, the OJ trial is when it took off. I used to watch Forensic Files marathons on that channel before it flipped the script and became Tru TV.

Virginia isn't that much better offensively than we have been.

Reason to watch the women's game vs Albany right now.

Bailey Hixson.

Damn this was an impressive win for Cincy. Held K-State to 38% shooting, shot 63% (!!!) themselves, and killed them on the glass 31-23. That is a GOOD win and a great performance.

Need to bottle it for UCLA

I actually think Cincy can beat Ucla. Ucla is really soft defensively, and if Cincy spreads them out they are likely going to get guys to the ft line early and often as their guys are strong with the ball and agile. Very interesting matchup.

Well hopefully this Notre Dame WVU game is good because there isn't going to be another game on for 2 and a half hours.

I agree, after seeing both games yesterday in person, Cincy has the size and toughness, I was not really impressed with UCLA at all, although Leaf played like a stud yesterday.

I was encouraged by how UCLA handled the post. They doubled the Hall kid a ton but were terribly slow on any rotation. I figure they are try to do the same to Washington and/or Clark.

Clark is going to eat Welsh up.

You don't think the UW/Nova game can/will be good?

Regardless this game is going very well. WVU can't plaster ND bad enough.

Impressive win by cincy, but winning a road game in the tourney is really freakin hard. It took Kemba walker in 2011 to do it for Uconn (twice). This cincy team has the pieces to beat ucla, but they need the 80/game cincy to show up and not the 60/game.

Only good thing about the tournament so far is we don't have to hear about how great the ACC is doing or how they will have a record number of teams in Sweet 16.

Hope Huggy makes it through the tourney. Looks like he's gained another 20lbs since passing out a couple weeks ago.

And with that heart scare mid-game, gotta wonder how many years he keeps going.

Always respected him as a coach and WVU as a program. Have them in the Final Four; hope they can make it. They arguably have the easiest path with Gonzaga as the 1, AZ as the 2, and FSU as the 3 in their bracket

Oh I think most of the games today should be good. I just don't like having one exclusive game at noon.
Yeah it's dumb that they only have CBS games in the early afternoon and then jam pack a bunch of games in the evening.

Give me the "5" at WVU - Adrian any day. 3 points only but a monster impact on the court. Does it all, helps bring it up, plays position defense and physical at that. Smaller Jake but a real nice basketball player.

I will give them credit for one thing. When it was just CBS they had to finish Sunday up in time for 60 minutes so the last game was a 5PM start or so. Now the last Sunday game starts at 9:40.

Bronson Koenig just caught the ball with one foot out of bounds for the second time in two games.
