Nice of the NCAA to let Kansas play pretty much on their home court. This always seems to happen to UNC, Duke and UCLA...hope Purdue wins this

painter is not adjusting to kansas throwing the double at swaningan

12 1/2 min to go, up by 7, 61-54. The next 8 min is where Kansas traditionally gets tense and spits the bit.

bill self doesnt have to coach... his team is experienced and old

Xavier plays a really active 2-3 zone.

That head on angle flattered their zone, but they're not particularly good defensively. And they've been awful rebounding in the 2-3 so far.

What Mack does well is that he keeps switching his defenses - 2-3, 3-2, man, etc. I think that's covered a lot of Xavier's defensive issues - but they're going to get blown out of the zone if Arizona keeps crashing the offensive glass.

Kansas went on their runs with both swanigan and lurch in the game. They don't play together much and with both of them in Kansas ran Purdue out of the gym

It is always hard to rebound in a zone. That is the zone's biggest weakness. John Chaney taught a good 3-2 zone. Otherwise I hate that defense because it leaves too much open space inside. I think Arizona just has too much of a height advantage for Xavier to spend much time in man-to-man. I missed the beginning of the game. Is O'Mara hurt? Why isn't he playing more?

Yeah 95 UConn held (or holds?) the record for the most points in the first 3 games of the tournament.

Truly amazing. That 95 team, along with that 2006 team were the two most talented UCONN squads never to make a final 4, though I give the nod to 2006 as having more raw talent, that 95 team had more heart by a mile.

First 3 games of tourney
2017 Kansas 288 points
1995 Uconn 295 points

First 4 games of tourney
2017 Kansas ??? points
1995 Uconn 391 points

Sadly that scoring outburst ended in a 102-96 shoot out with UCLA.

Have players always been allowed to wear long sleeve shirts under their jersey in College hoops? I remember when it seemed like we were the only team with a bunch of guys wearing tees under their jersey but can't remember guys wearing long sleeves like Macura for Xavier.

Arizona shoots so well. Xavier is putting up a good fight, but they are outmatched.

They should treat a flop as a delay of game. First one is a warning, second is a technical. Allen is flopping all over the court.

Seems to be a new rule. This article in 2015 made it sound illegal at the time. LINK

Some guys pull it off. Macura looks like a clown. As you probably know, you will see several guys on the floor at a time with sleeves in the NBA. Long sleeves and short shorts. Who would have thunk?

Arizona pushes Xavier's cutter in the back with two hands. That should be a flagrant.

Interesting how fashion changes. It went from short shorts to incredibly baggy shorts with Arkansas and Michigan to what we have now. Our guys used to wear baggy shorts and some big t's. Now they all wear fairly tight shorts and jerseys.

Xavier doesn't have the horses but they are tough as nails, Mack is an excellent coach.

They're shooting 43% tonight, 22% from 3...

A lot of them were contested shots. Those drives that they are finishing are really tough because they are shooting floaters from 8 feet out.

Zona heating up.

Who does this 55 from Xavier think he is? Trying to be cool and/or different?
