The Official 2025 NY Jets thread

Pats fan here and I honestly thought Glenn would at least have them playing solid defense, running the ball and playing decent field position football. I haven't seen enough of the Jets to understand what's caused them to be this bad. -45 point differential.
That’s the stunning part…I was less worried about the defense, but they have been awful. Not sure if it’s talent, scheme, luck or all the above. The team is sloppy and undisciplined..the opposite of what I expected of Glenn.

Hi I didn't know this existed!
thank you Shaky
excited to join you all in the misery of life as a jet.

I grew up a stone's throw away from Hofstra, and saw the players around town during training camp season. They were my heroes, which is why I can't muster the strength to just leave the Jets. though i absolutely hate them, and no longer watch games as my own form of silent protest until they are worth watching. But i still see the embarassing NY Post cover pages and I admit I do watch highlights to see what actually happened. I just don't reserve 3+ hours of my sunday anymore to get mad at a TV screen.

Welcome to the group therapy session.

Glad to have you and @AllHusky joining our sad thread.

I live in Vegas now…and every time i tell someone here that I am a Jets fan I get a knowing sympathetic look. Of course…this city is just a mix of transplants…so they all like different teams…and tolerate the Raiders.

I was hoping that Carroll would have the Raiders playing decent this year, but alas…they stink also.

One of my friends, a BC fan, refers to the current state of their athletic department, excepting hockey, as having been Jetified! He grew up in Hauppaugue and his family had Jets season tickets for years. We have adopted the term to describe things that are such a mess you can’t figure out how to untangle them or if it is even possible. Even the Giants have become Jetified in recent years.

We started the season with the Jets, Patriots and Giants all sucking. Now there is only one team that is awful…the other two have optimism (and quarterbacks). Guess which one still sucks?

Watching Dart…I can’t believe that the Jets passed on him. I know the general opinion was that he wasn’t top 10 worthy. But…there were other opinions that said he was a can’t miss. Like Charlie Weiss whose son coached him at Ole Miss. Weiss was right. Maybe next year the Jets can get the next Zach WIlson.

I am waiting for the Jets to start getting just enough wins so they don’t get a high draft pick. Of course those will probably come at the end of the year when the playoff teams are resting their starters. So..will this week be the week they get a freak win? I say no because Payton is too good of a coach to let his team lose to the Jets.

I almost feel like they need to go the Mayfield route getting a guy who's a little bit of a late bloomer (which I guess they're trying with Fields except he can't pass the ball). I have no faith in that team drafting and developing a QB anymore.

That makes sense…but who?

BTW…Fields is so frustrating. He needs to just play…he seems to overthink. At this point, I don’t even care if he throws picks…just stop running around back there. And…if they know they are stuck with a qb with great running skills and bad passing skills…why don’t they have more designed runs for him? Who cares if he gets hurt. And..stop drawing up long passes that he can’t complete.

Mayfield was pretty good in Cleveland as a rookie. I think that was just a brain fart by another poorly run organization, thinking Watson was the answer. Darnold was obviously a late bloomer the Jets let go.
I'm not seeing any signs that Trey Lance or Zach Wilson are going to take a jump. Mac Jones maybe if SF doesn't bring him back? The guy I'd take a chance on maybe being a late bloomer is Sam Howell. Will Levis perhaps?

Mac Jones would be perfect. Ex Pat that led us to a Super Bowl? A Jets fan dream.

Eh, who am I kidding? I'm going to die before they even make the playoffs again.

Don’t give up Deep. I’ve been rooting for the Jets longer than you’ve been alive. I still have faith. LOL.

Your suggestion of Mac Jones makes me realize the flaw in the idea that the Jets can fix a quarterback…they Jets don’t have the coaches that can fix them. Engstrand is a first time OC who thinks Fields doesn’t hold the ball too long.

Shanahan helped Jones…Coen helped Mayfield…O’Connell helped Darnold. Is Engstrand able to do what they did? I am skeptical.

I think we can all agree….if you have spent your whole life rooting for one football team…and that team is the NY Jets…you have some form of PTSD. It doesn’t matter if you are 12 or 92. You know nothing but disaapointment, frustration, anger and sadness.

A lot of bars are opening early for the Jet game tomorrow. Im just staying home, drink a fifth of Jack Daniels and hammer my own nutz.
