shhhhhhhhhhhJim Mora would look nice running the Giants

I think it is more about the defensive play calling than the defense itself. Prevent defense just doesn't work. That's true , I should have said 3 points , but damn those 3 points would have made a big difference. Finding a FG kicker that can make extra points should not be so difficult.
I am even more annoyed and disgusted with the defense. 11 orange traffic cones could have provided better defense than the NYG's defense.
I know this may ring hollow from a Pats fan, but I think you need to like the situation the Giants are in. If you can upgrade the coaching, you've got a team with pretty solid looking young QB, elite young WR, very good young TE, great young Edge and some other solid pieces. Yet you'll probably pick pretty high. That's a recipe for success. I think Philly is trending the other way, getting older, losing talent. There were quite a few things about that game (and the decision making by the coaching staff down the stretch) that were inexcusable. That said, there could well be positives to be drawn from this:
1 - there had been rumors for nearly two weeks that the Giants were looking to add a #1 WR at the trade deadline to fill the hole with Nabors' injury. There is no reason to give up future draft capital for a rental on this team. This loss may make the front office realize that playoffs are a bit of a pipe dream and the goal should be to continue building for 2026 and beyond.
2 - there is more evidence that someone other than Daboll is needed to run this team once the roster is built out further. If Sunday made it easier to dismiss him at season's end, it was a matrices to pay.
3 - as we likely aren't yet a playoff team and we didn't need to sacrifice our 2026 first round pick in the trade to draft Dart, the loss (add to this Dallas and New Orleans earlier in the season) helps our draft position. Personally I want a stud CB, hopefully there will be one available when we pick.
I posted a little earlier in this thread about the Patriots now having an adult in charge. That should be all anyone needs to reference when the inevitable "You can't make your QB change coaches after his rookie season" excuse comes up on whether to fire Daboll.I know this may ring hollow from a Pats fan, but I think you need to like the situation the Giants are in. Yeah but you are talking about the guy who gave up Barkley for nothing to see him become MVP, then give Daniel Jones a huge contract only to give him up for nothing only to watch him have an MVP season! There were quite a few things about that game (and the decision making by the coaching staff down the stretch) that were inexcusable. I think Schoen and Daboll came in as a package - no? Schoen's decision making is nearly as bad as Daboll's maybe worse if you consider the place kicking situationI know this may ring hollow from a Pats fan, but I think you need to like the situation the Giants are in. I would love to replace Schoen as well (stated it numerous times on this board and at least once earlier in this thread).Yeah but you are talking about the guy who gave up Barkley for nothing to see him become MVP, then give Daniel Jones a huge contract only to give him up for nothing only to watch him have an MVP season!
Fox in Hartford not showing Giants - Eagles this week.Cox near Hartford not showing the Giants @ 4pm on CBS??
Not a Giant fan in the least, but losing Nabors and Skatt to horrible injuries like this is just cruel and unusual. Especially when there was actually something to start getting excited about. There are increasingly fewer reasons to watch this team by the week
I heard a theory on the radio ( can't remember who but pretty sure it was on WFAN) that Daboll was holding on to Bowen until the end of the season so he had a scapegoat to save his job. The theory was that if he got rid of Bowen now and things continued the way they are now he has no one to blame at the end of the season. What a terrible sports weekend. The loss to the Eagles whatever was highly unlikely to sweep the Eagles. It's the loss to the Saints and Broncos that hurts the most and the injuries suck. How is Shane Bowen still the D coordinator after last week it's disgusting. Daboll staying on still I at least understand that even though I get rid of him, Bowen I don't understand how he's still on the staff promote the Dline coach to interim DC who cares.
The commentary was Tom Terrific who I have to say it was my first time hearing him do color was pretty good. On the tush push apparently since forward motion was called the play ended? Commentators were dubious. The offensive interference call the commentators thought should have been a no call. The Athletic had a piece early today before the game that this ref crew through the least number of flags in the NFL. Maybe they decided to correct that discrepancy today! Still didn’t mean that much give the Gints inability to stop the run2nd and 31 and Philly hands off and gets the first down!! Are you kidding me!! Offensive pass interference on the 4th down TD was pretty marginal, especially with Slayton's shirt stretched out 3 yds. We didn't have voice at the bar I was at. It was a Patriots bar in New Hampshire but the consensus of 10 guys watching was a clean steal by Thibideau on the tush push. What was the commentary? We weren't going to win this game giving up 10 yds per carry but we can't beat both the Eagles and refs at the same time. We lose all our offensive linemen like 3 years in a row and now they stay healthy and we lose all our skill players. Geez
