The Official 2025 New York Giants Thread

I have no idea what they expected from Russell Wilson who proved that father time had passed him last year.did they expect veteran leadership and a mentor to Dart? I don't think I want him to follow his lead now.

Wilson was brought in as a placeholder, nothing more, nothing less.

Any QB can be ruined if he's thrown to the wolves prior to fully understanding the playbook, trying to operate behind a substandard offensive line, lack of non-game development on how to read defenses and manage an offensive game plan. The plan is to work extensively with Dart and move in him at some point later in the season.

The league is littered with first round busts going back basically as long as there has been a draft. It's no coincidence that a very small percentage of Super Bowl winning QB's were starters from day one of their NFL careers.

I've been very critical of Schoen/Daboll on many things and still do not believe they are the right people to fix this team. I do however believe they are handling this in the best way possible.

I don’t think they had any idea either hence they took on Jameis as well

What does that have to do with play on the field. I'm sure Wilson is a great leader but can he play still. Also does need more help from his line and receivers.

Same old Giants, Russell Wilson is washed. I still think it's the logical choice to still start Russ but my patience is really gonna be wearing thin to wanting to start Dart. The defense sucks too.

Guess who's lighting it up, that's right it's Daniel Jones, but hey I thought all our issues were gone if we moved on from Jones. Yes it was the right move to move on from Jones, it's not his fault that the Mara's tried to convince the fanbase that he was the next Eli.
Jones needed to move on from the Giants as much if not more than the Giants moving on from him. For Jones' sake, he got $80 Million out of the Maras. For their investment, the Giants appear to get to look at other teams' coordinators and Asst. GMs for next year.

I wouldn't get too down on Wilson just yet. He was under fire all afternoon, the Giants were down 40% of their expected offensive line, and the Commanders defense is vastly improved from last year. They rebuilt the defensive line and, based on a small sample size, Amos might be a star in the secondary.

On the other hand, the Commanders offense did enough, but was not yet ready for primetime...which incidentally happens on Thursday. The rushing game was pretty good, but JD5 was off just a bit.

Daboll said the Giants left 11 points on the field. While that may be true, they would have not been in that positive unless Commanders shot themselves in the foot time and again. 12 penalties including the one giving the Giants the ball in their own redzone and then extending the goal line stand. I'd argue that the game was not as close as the score would indicate.

Obviously Thomas was out but what other offensive line starter didn't play?
