The Official 2025 New York Giants Thread

No but he'll be claimed. So will Dulcich.
There a lot of teams with bad qbs so it is possible but Devito will be 3rd string at best. Giants have updated the qb room and we're worried about Devito lol.

Since the authoritative opinion has been rendered by our Boneyard savants you might as well get a good laugh from a USA Today writeup.
"Now, DeVito suddenly becomes one of, if not the best, veteran quarterbacks available for teams needing a backup." I understand other opinions aren't valid, but they do exist.

Which of the 3 QBs they kept would you have cut to keep DeVito?

Well @HuskyHawk can be happy now. Though I expect it'll quickly turn to unhappiness if he ever needs to actually see Tommy DeVito play football

The 4th stringers are safe on the Giants practice squad, the optimism is safe to return

Told you. Dobbs hasn't been good. Hospital balls left and right. DeVito is probably better. Many Pats media guys expected them to claim him.

Having watched Tommy DeVito for 2+ years I can promise you he is not. He is bad. There's a reason the Giants didn't even let him throw the ball any time he was on the field last year

Honestly feel like the Pats should have tried to trade for Sam Howell. Clear upgrade on either backup.

Same old Giants, Russell Wilson is washed. I still think it's the logical choice to still start Russ but my patience is really gonna be wearing thin to wanting to start Dart. The defense sucks too.

Guess who's lighting it up, that's right it's Daniel Jones, but hey I thought all our issues were gone if we moved on from Jones. Yes it was the right move to move on from Jones, it's not his fault that the Mara's tried to convince the fanbase that he was the next Eli.

I want to see what the offensive line looks like after Thomas is back at full strength, then I'll start planning on when to put Dart in.

No sense throwing him in just to have him run for his life.

No doubt Russ gets at least the first 4 games. Russ wasn't good but was also let down today with dropped passes. The defense got breaks with Daniels being a bit off but an off day for Daniels hes still gonna be getting tds. Bowens soft zone is trash Burns and Carter are studs.

So ask this question to you all was Daniel Jones the problem or was the Giants organization the problem?

Daboll has to do less talking and more winning at least win participation trophies against elite teams to make look entertaining. You can’t move on on from Jones( the right move).

Then you put up 6 pts, it’s no way to send a message to your fanbase that things have changed. You chased off Wink Martindale, to hire a lame duck d coordinator. It’s on Daboll and Schoen now 100 percent. In year 4 with no Jones or Saquon this is the first actual year of a true rebuild.

Is this the 20 year year rebuilding plan, you draft a stud player in the top 5 and hope they all age like fine wine lol.

It's not an either or, Daniel Jones sucks and the Giants organization sucks

This D got shredded today. Wilson is definitely done. I fear Thomas may be out longer than hoped and if he does come back how effective he can be is a big question. Last, the play calling especially on O was so typical last decade Giants

it was the right move to dump Daniel Jones just like its the right move to dump Daboll and Schoen.

The Giants are just cursed the freaking Raiders have figured it out, we know the Lions have.

I have no idea what they expected from Russell Wilson who proved that father time had passed him last year.did they expect veteran leadership and a mentor to Dart? I don't think I want him to follow his lead now.

Wilson was brought in as a placeholder, nothing more, nothing less.

Any QB can be ruined if he's thrown to the wolves prior to fully understanding the playbook, trying to operate behind a substandard offensive line, lack of non-game development on how to read defenses and manage an offensive game plan. The plan is to work extensively with Dart and move in him at some point later in the season.

The league is littered with first round busts going back basically as long as there has been a draft. It's no coincidence that a very small percentage of Super Bowl winning QB's were starters from day one of their NFL careers.

I've been very critical of Schoen/Daboll on many things and still do not believe they are the right people to fix this team. I do however believe they are handling this in the best way possible.

I don’t think they had any idea either hence they took on Jameis as well

What does that have to do with play on the field. I'm sure Wilson is a great leader but can he play still. Also does need more help from his line and receivers.

Jones needed to move on from the Giants as much if not more than the Giants moving on from him. For Jones' sake, he got $80 Million out of the Maras. For their investment, the Giants appear to get to look at other teams' coordinators and Asst. GMs for next year.

I wouldn't get too down on Wilson just yet. He was under fire all afternoon, the Giants were down 40% of their expected offensive line, and the Commanders defense is vastly improved from last year. They rebuilt the defensive line and, based on a small sample size, Amos might be a star in the secondary.

On the other hand, the Commanders offense did enough, but was not yet ready for primetime...which incidentally happens on Thursday. The rushing game was pretty good, but JD5 was off just a bit.

Daboll said the Giants left 11 points on the field. While that may be true, they would have not been in that positive unless Commanders shot themselves in the foot time and again. 12 penalties including the one giving the Giants the ball in their own redzone and then extending the goal line stand. I'd argue that the game was not as close as the score would indicate.

Obviously Thomas was out but what other offensive line starter didn't play?

I thought I heard that Neal was injured as well.

Daboll feeling like the gas being nudged up a bit?

Wilson had terrible interception in OT. Was that miscommunication or what? Hats off to Aubrey from Dallas with 64 yarder to tie and 46 yarder for the win.
