He is of the opinion that being the 5 or 6th choice in TX, FL, OH, or 'the South" is better than being whatever UConn recruiting is.

UConn in a P5 conference with a good coach he's wrong. UConn in the AAC, without a coach he's right.

The degradation of the program's potential in the AAC is to be determined. We know what CR uncertainty and a lousy coach will do.

They remaining question is what does a good coach in the AAC look like recruiting wise?

We can't sell BCS auto bids, so as much as some may not want to hear it, it looks like the Edsall model is the way to go, only a better version. A guy who can attract a few more skill athletes.

So recruiting for:

USC/UCF against FSU, UF, Miami, Georgia or
UH against TAMU, UT, LSU or
SMU against UT, OK, OK State, or
Memphis against Tenn, Vanderbilt, Ark, Miss St, Ole Miss, or
Tulane against LSU, TAMU, Ole Miss, or
ECU against NCState, UNC, Duke, Wake, USC or
Temple against Rutgers, PSU, Pitt, Maryland

These are all easier jobs? What an a.

Hank:

you are correct!! I think recruiting between us and 'Cuse, Rut and BCU, with the right coach, we could get those players. Ok, we may not be in the ACC or the B1G, but we can tell the players about the school and what an UConn education can do. (and if they go to the campus, have them have an ice cream at the Dairy Bar!! :) )
