For all the complaining about letting the rankings determine things, the BiG may be proposing that the BiG and SEC get 4 bids, the B12 & ACC get 2, G5 gets 1, and 1 at-large. So I guess 14 teams.

The conference championship day would be changed to have "prelims" -- eg, #6 BiG vs #3 BiG & #5 BiG v #4 BiG to get bids, with #1 & #2 getting AQs.

For all the complaining about who did and did not “deserve” to be there, the expectation that every game would be close is just not reality. Nobody says Team X doesn’t belong in the NFL playoffs, yet every year there are blowouts, especially in the early rounds. Last year in the wild card round 5 games were decided by 14 or more. 3 by 19 or more. Only 1 was under a touchdown. In the divisional round there was only 1 real blow out, Ravens over the Texans, but nobody said any of the losers didn’t belong. And look at early rounds of the NCAA tournament. The first 4 days are full of blow outs. Even the Rounds of 16 and 8 have their share.

It is the nature of sports. The CFP probably needs to be tweaked a bit but having some unexpected teams there is great for the sport. And all the teams that “should have been there” would have if they just didn’t lose games they should have won!

How many points should “tradition” be worth?

This is year one. Let it breathe a bit before screwing it up even further. Nothing is going to please everyone.

Unless UGA turns it around, all 4 teams with byes will lose their only games.

The best block so far by UGA was by their redshirt sophomore Parker Jones. Unfortunately, it was on the side judge running down the sideline resulting in a 15 yard penalty after UGA had a decent shot at a TD. Georgia ended up with a field goal instead and then QB Stockton fumbled with less than a minute to go and ND recovered and scored a TD.

I don't like ND but they are far more likeable with Freeman than they were with Kelly.
I liked ND as a kid but I can't stand Brian Kelly and he kind of killed my rooting interest. I hate what SEC and Big 10 have done to college football. I'm pulling hard for ND and find myself rooting for Midwest teams over Southern teams.

Been an ND fan since my bro the Domer was a grad student there when Holtz won the NC in '88. Only teams I make a point of watching are:

1. UConn
2. ND

Go Irish.

Notre Dame getting a tough whistle
Didn't turn his head around and play the ball that's the right call but ND held them off any ways, the officiating has been better in this game. ND defense makes you earn every damn yard.

ND has dominated this game they are the better team.
It's a really likable team. They had that awful loss to NIU and they could've folded. They've had a bunch of injuries and could've folded. People were calling for Riley Leonard's head. They play old school physical football on both sides and are extremely well coached. I really want them to win the whole thing.

When Duke with Riley Leonard blew us out in 2023 it was a real down day. But watching how he is making all the plays needed for the Irish vs Georgia it just goes to show you how important having a dynamic QB is. Freeman and his coordinators have coached a great game. Al Golden as DC is still making a difference.

The NIU game was a bit of a flukey game early in the season.
