I do not have a rebuttal for the argument by you and @storrsroars that college football can have an unwatchably product and its current fan base will stay with it and even grow. You might be right, and we will probably find out soon.

I'm going to regret extending this discussion but you're assertion, that the product is unwatchable is quite a stretch. The fan bass of the schools that pack in 90k plus to every home game and send 30k alumni and non alumni fans halfway across the country for bowl games would be thrilled to regularly see rheir schools win games in a manner similar to what PSU did to Boise St last night.

This is a sport where the bulk of the talent and the bulk of the highest level of success has always been concentrated to an exceptionally small percentage of schools. Somehow the revenues have always increased well above the CPI index. You have every right to consider the product unwatchable. As long as there are enough that consider it watchable the product will be safe.
