The two things are not mutually exclusive. What is so hard to comprehend?

"huskyfanDan" I wouldn't stress over this logo. Once Nike finishes up with Uconn's athletic branding it won't be that logo your so upset about. Nike will definitely touch up the huskies logo or the block C.
 
I hope they keep some deviation of the interlocking UC and make it universal for all sports.

We may keep the Block C. I didn't see anything that indicated otherwise. The dog is definitely changing.

The one "insider" guy says in there that it's gone, and the other UConn AD guy who was posting info, forget his handle, said in another thread that he had not seen a block C in any renderings he viewed.

Also, it just doesn't make a ton of sense to use a block C to brand "UConn" the block C was used to brand "Connecticut", based off of a Randy request if I recall.

So, this isn't verified proof, but I am going forward with the assumption that there is no more block C.

Sorry to go HFD on this topic, but this scattered branding has pissed me off for a while, very small-time. Pretty happy about the change.

I have to agree with this sentiment once again. I watched every minute of the ND / UCONN game and could not tell you what they had on for uniforms except what I read here. I was watching #2 vs #3, they could have been in practice sweats with red vs yellow practice jerseys and I would still know this was ND vs CT.

I wonder how many recruits from CT went to Penn ST. Fla, Wisconsin etc because their unis were more exciting? Our uniforms are not a crisis.

As for all those preaching marketing I could save a lot of drawer space if every UConn shirt looked the same. Some folks like myself get some new apparel every Christmas because it does not look like what I already have in stock. I would have to say this is smart marketing.

Last but not least I would advise all those banging their heads against the wall over uniforms to remove the padding, put yourself out of misery. We have much bigger bumps in the road to over come than the font of our C. I actually went back and researched our football win over ND and could not find a single article, blog or comment on a board attributing it to our uniforms.

The dog is associated with WINNING.
The C is something plenty of college football folks have already become familiar with, and people are not so stupid (yet) that they don't know that UConn and the "C" of Connecticut are the same thing. There is no major dissonance here at all.

I fear we're about to become another Pitt. Their branding has been an absolute trainwreck over the last 20 years. They are Buffalo Sabres bad when it comes to branding.

when this vid came out i put it on the bball board and told ppl to check out the flag. 99% there didn't even get what i was talking about which is about the average state of mind in this fanbase but none the less....

exactly. just more bad decision gets piled up. hey if the ship is sinking in CR might as well sink it in every other way possible also right? no reason to fight and try to prosper...

dont let a couple likes from butchy get to your head. he has a serious hate for me becuase he thinks i made fun of his condition, which i did not be he took what i said the wrong way in a thread. i made it clear to him and others here i did not do that and ppl saw it for what it was. ever since butchy wants me more dead than geroge washington.

Come on man, HFD has at least 3 sources that gave him a ton of info on the GW naming, and he has been telling us for WEEKS why he was named Goerge. He should have been named Jimmy. Our heads are just too far into the clouds to realize it. We all need to WAKE UP.
