i have good news! were going to do a half asz c that does not match either the block c or the script c. then to dazzle it some more we are going to put a nerf looking football in the backround of it. wala! were so big time college athletics aren't we?!?!?!?!

Nike did a similar thing with Gtown and Nova men's uniforms this year for special games, just a G or V with number on the front and the team name on the back. It's just an alternative, something they should do for the men's team.

a number for a jersey is a lot different then a cartoonish basketball under a schools logo. i thought having the c with the bball on the back hologram style of the nike platum hyper jerseys was bad enough then i turned on espn during the 3rd ot 2night to see that crisis.

my bone is not what ppl think. i understand that schools have differnet logos and dress setting for different teams. but uconn is different. we are a young brand and a struggling one right now. we have to fight a major public identiy that we are a bball not fball school. ppl see the fball vs bball logos and jump on that. we need to curve that opinion for a year. its not that a uconn bball shirt. thats a uconn shirt... we need to cruve that public opinion and viewing every time a fan wears a shirt. thats how u change yourself. we however would rather continue to shoot our toes off until eventually we just give up and take the elevator.

It's just an alternative that looks awful...I agree that our brand is awful and is all over ...ing place. As much as people say this crap doesn't matter, it does. UConn's colors are great and we blow it with our symbols and letters which are all completely different. After all the national championships, UConn's national perception is not what it should be and part of that problem is the Brand. It comes down to Connecticut leadership again...light years behind in everything.

u swung and missed the point. as usual a tpical uconn blue galsses response.

right now uconn is fighting public perception that we are a bball school. every time a uconn fan wears a tshirt ppl say thats a uconn bball fan or fball fan? i be tmore times then not its bball. but if it was 1 logo ppl would just say thats a uconn fan. when u see a womens logo with a bball u help put out the bball identity. if we went block c across the board. ppl wouldnt know puck from fball or bball. it would unify the school sports. but it would more importantly not give the public the perception that all uconn fans care about is bball. this is a perception and media war were fighting and we are losing big time because most ppl here support the ways of warde and susan who both have hore blinders on towards this stuff.

think about it. if u didn't like being called a nerd in hs, then u would get contacts and put your glasses in your locker. right now we dont like getting called a bball schoola nd always claim were a fball school also. they why the fruck are we putting a cartoonsih orange basketball on our C logo and pimping it???!?!?!?!??!!??

funny. becuase i clealry want a football on our womens field hockey jerseys...u really get the point well fishy. u know as well as i do that we need to scrap everything and go with our states name and a block C or w/e logo they pick. we need soemthing to build on asap and capture the fanbase by. but we will fail so all ppl like u have is humor and sarcastic threads when the time is right. turn me off if u agree.

Fishy, do you honestly enjoy looking at that 1993 slanted upper case C that we used to use back in middle school to make our book reports look bigger. I swear I saw that same orange basketball from that graphics tab I would have to use for my cover page in 6th grade. if i recall, the three other picks on that graphics page were a bat, soccer ball and a brown cartoon looking football.

Like I suspect is the case with the rest of the world, I rarely notice the details of the uniforms on our women's hoop team. I paid almost no attention to their aesthetics tonight.

I was more preoccupied with the 34 turnovers and that spectacular moving screen 90' from the basket.

Very cool. Hopefully our press release is very similar. Those uniforms are pretty ugly and uninspired, but whatever, they are unified, and that is what really matters in this whole thing.

One other thing I took away from that OSU link - There is about a 95% chance that our new "designed by Nike" husky logo will be our helmet decal. Hopefully it's tolerable.

Also, why do people keep making posts about keeping the block C and keeping the old husky logo? It has become pretty clear that neither one is going to happen. We just have to accept it and move on, and hope Nike did right by us.
