It is a pity it is at 11:15PM but at least, no conflict with the UConn game. I hope I can stay awake. Talk about a vengeance game for the US.:mad::mad::mad:

Don't bombard me for this, but I am rooting for Canada because as a fan of Kia Nurse I want her cuz to get the gold. Sorry.:D

I think the Canadians have the emotional advantage. The U.S. is fueled by revenge motive, which often backfires on the would-be avengers.

Curiously it is only at the Olympics where Canada has "dominated." The US has won 7 of the last 9 World Championships, and leads the rivalry overall.

I can imagine Kia and her team mates watching the game after she plays tonight

Curious indeed. And about to change.

I hope that Geno and CD allows them to stay up and watch the game together as a team.

The team has nothing to do till they play Saturday afternoon in Texas, so 100% they are up and watching.

I woldn't say they have nothing to do. School is still in session as far as I know, and since this isn't UNC we're talking about here, they have work to do while they are on the road and not playing or practicing basketball.

I doubt that study sessions are scheduled after a night game. They will be watching. Kia in 1 corner, everyone else in the other .

2-1 Canada, 17:00, 3rd. Team USA is just “off” tonight. Not aggressive enough, not getting the puck to the net.

Canada getting more shots on goal in the 3rd than US. with 13 minutes left. Come on.:mad::mad:

Just tied in up 2-2 6 minutes left. Come on. :D:D

Chance on PP with 4 minutes. Much better pressure by US :)

On boy. 2-2 OT coming. Much better energy by US but both teams at times coughing it up.

We dominated the OT even killing a 4-3 pp at the end but end as 2-2 and a shoot out. Crap. Mens team was knocked out on shootout .

WE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shoot out win on 6th round. Fantastic last goal. Glad I stayed up. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

That Lamoureux goal to win was pure filth.

That's just not nice to do to that poor goalie.

I wonder whether there might have been some friendly wagers among the ladies over the outcome of this game.... especially with one of their number being Canadian and having a cousin on the Canadian team. By the way, Ms. Nurse of the Canadian hockey team looks EXACTLY like her basketball-playing cousin -- when I saw her I almost did a double take.

Great win. But whoever came up with the idea of a shootout deciding the gold medal winner, as opposed to deciding it with a hockey game, should be drawn and quartered at minimum. Having a shootout is akin to basketball deciding its championship with a game of horse.

Agreed but I take solace that the team who was peaking in the 3rd period and completely dominated the OT period won the shoot out. :D

Huge win... certainly among the best American performances of this Olympics.
