Ray Allen when I was 11ish, went to UConn with my parents so my dad could visit campus and I wanted to go to Gampel and the entire mens and womens teams were practicing and we went to get a shirt to get it signed and as we were walking out Ray Allen was walking in and talked to us for a few minutes.

True story: he used walk by my open dorm room door. He'd tap the door jam and go, "s'up, ya'all." Didn't matter if it was just one person or a group. Always, "ya'all." Then one day, he taps the doorway and asks me, "Man? Why you always studyin'?"

Gee, E. I don't know. Maybe because I'm an out of state student without a full ride?

Got to chat with them both for a couple minutes and knew then how great a representative he was gonna be for the school.
