I read a lot of stuff on The Summitt last night. I read that the LV fans thought that ESPN portrayed Pat incorrectly. I never read that they thought that ESPN did that because they are partial to Connecticut, although one isolated poster may have said so.

I hoped and expected Tennessee would lose this game but I am saddened by the end result, especially given what PS is going through.

I can't agree with all the comments about bad coaching and not getting these girls to refuse to lose. This is the fourth year that this group has acted the same way. Calhoun is having the same problem right now and he also had it 2006 when we lost to George Mason and the year before last when Kemba was a sophomore. Sometimes when you deal with young people and teenagers, the message just doesn't get through no matter what you do. That's kids I guess!

I’m a Tennessee graduate and fan. I also enjoy Geno and what he brings to the game. I think ESPN and for that matter all media presents things in such a way to make them compelling, dramatic and thus PROFITABLE. ESPN is one of the best if not the best in the business at this…it has nothing to do with liking someone, disliking someone, or regional bias …the only agenda they have is making money….the production is planned and orchestrated to the detriment of the game regardless its outcome…

I’ve often said that with their video and musical editing skills they can make a can a corn look like a hero or…they can make it look like a can of corn.

It's just not true that there was a deliberate attempt to make Pat look bad. The cameras have been relatively kind. Of course, in any big game like this the coaches are constantly shown; that's standard. What is clear when you are there is that Pat is not coaching. It is very sad. She should probably protect her legacy and find a new role. How hard it must be, like a scholar who can't go to the library. Awful.

oh please - it was 33 pages. give credit where credit is due. lol. what a b unch of yahoo's over there. that thread is typical of tennessee fans, sorry to say to our tennessee visitors here... seriusly, that entire thread and the people who posted in it are delusional. and jmpenn, who was just posting here, had zero good to say about the BY in her post over there. nice lol.

The whole "ESPN is trying to make Pat look bad" angle is mind boggling.

What would ESPN hope to accomplish by doing this?

Even if the allegation were true (and it's not) would it have made Tennessee's loss any less humiliating? If anything, if Pat were seriously engaged AND they lost that
badly, that would make Pat look even worse. Isn't it better to think Pat would never let a team play like this?

If anything, announcers have been avoiding the issue, saying things like "Pat has a big decision to make here" when it's obvious she's not making those decisions.

The anger at ESPN, which has been very good to the SEC in general and the LV program in particular, is misdirected disappointment/anger, IMO.

First of all, thanks for coming by and dirtying yourself. You are not missed.

The first time, I cut and pasted part of the write up by Maria about the Stanford loss. Had no idea that wan't allowed, but the mods here removed it. No big deal.

THe video was on Youtube with no protection. At time I linked it, it was in the public domain. I doubt that Maria has a leg to stand on the the FBI will laugh at her phone call.

I'm more concerned with her threat to remove my access to the premium Tennessee site when I pay for access to all scout sites.

And her allowing a post that calls Nan a [name] is dispicable. Hare to believe you can complain about what the mods here let us post.

they changed it (Maria did). some great low class comments over there calling Nan a [name]. Pot... Kettle. they are insane.

and comments like we are following the example set by our head coach. nice. and Maria seriously said she's reporting the "theft" to the FBI. if that's not the dumbest thing i've ever heard... then again... wait 10 minutes and go back and read their board again.

Fa-reak show! lol... Prospective recruits really need to read that thread, and all the fun threads where the fans threw the players under the bus. nice fan base. some of them have no class whatsoever. not all, but some.

You know what. That board is a disgrace to TN and WCBB. Watch out for another 37 page violation this one to the FBI. How can one mod call out another and not do it professionally by email. The new poll show TN ranked 9 th. I call that overrated or should I say berated. Just when everybody was feeling sorry for TN they pull this and its spearheaded by their mod. How dispicable. How unprofessional. Keep sending money to the maria travel fund.

Ya know what? This thread is not about the presser any more but all about another board. Personally, I get tired of the sometimes childish name calling fired across the boards but try to let it go. But to me, when it gets to be about how everyone on another board is not as good as us I start seeing this board being drawn down from where it should be.

If someone wants to restart a thread to discuss the press conference (and not link any copyrighted material in the process) please be my guest. But this thread needs to take a rest I think.
