Tennessee at Notre Dame Thur

I wasn't going to be surprised if the Lady Vols beat Notre Dame tonight due to ND's depleted roster and how well the Lady Vols have played this season. I didn't think the Lady Vols would be able to build a 15 point lead in the 1st quarter.

Hopefully for the NCAA they don't have Notre Dame as one of the #1 seeds. Definitely don't deserve it after the Louisville loss and how they are playing so far tonight.
 
This looks a bit like the Louisville-Notre Dame game. Irish getting run off the court again. Can't deal w/ Russell's size (other than elbowing her in the nose and having her sit on the bench for about 5 minutes) and can't deal w/ Tennessee's overall athleticism/speed. Could be a LONG night. Ogunbowale has been dreadful so far and Young has been nearly invisible.

Gotta give Tennessee credit. I haven't watched them much this year. I've seen some criticism of them in spite of their record, but they look really good so far.

UT is a very good team. I’m really enjoying watching this team.

Hayes has some bad timing on some of her passes. She passes too hard from too close.
 
Lead had ballooned to 39-17. ND finally dug in on defense, Tennessee looks a little rattled and turning the ball over. Irish hitting some shots. Now 39-25.
 
Young just short armed a wide open layup. Needed that one to keep momentum.
 
Tennessee falling apart. Haven't scored for quite a while, turning it over in bunches. 39-27.

13 TO's and counting. I don't think they've even attempted a shot in the last 3 or 4 possessions. Notre Dame w/ some TO's of their own. Sloppy down the stretch. 39-27 at halftime. Nice rally by ND. They never really fought back against Louisville. Good to see they still have a pulse.
 
What on earth is happening here? How did ND play us so well when they've looked so ..... I don't even know what the last 2 games.....?
 
UT has absolutely stunk it up in the last few minutes. Their passing is atrocious. Baylor may not have a schedule that gets them a top seeding but I feel certain that we would spank either of these teams.
 
Awfully nice if TN to make so many unforced errors and keep ND in it.

Huge shots by Davis and Westbrook near the end of Q3 to keep the lead at 10, though. Looked like ND might cut it to 5 or 6.
 
Lead down to 5 and crowd back in it. Starting to look like the opposite of last year's game.
 
24 TO's for Tennessee w/ just under 6 minutes left. Holy cow! ND just tied it up at 65.

Up by 5. I guess Warlick was wiating for the media TO to try to stop the bleeding. What a huge swing in momentum in this game.

ND finished strong to beat Oregon St. on the road, had UConn rally against them, now they seem to be on the plus side of a big swing in the 4th quarter again.
 
What an amazing turn-around. When the wheels starting coming off UT had non spare.

Kudos to ND for hanging tough. I take my hat off to them for not falling apart and giving up. This was a pivotal moment in their season.

This is stunning, ND just crushed Tennessee in the 4th quarter, ended up winning easily by 14. Holly was doing an impersonation of a statue during the entire comeback it appeared. 34-10 in the 4th quarter. 28 TO's for the Vols. Apparently the Irish aren't dead yet and Tennessee still has some work to do.
 
Russell had 6 points in the first 5 or so minutes of the game. She only scored 6 the rest of the game. Don't know if the shot she took to the face affected her or not after she returned to the game.
 
Tennessee fell on the self-destruct button.

ND played their best two-way ball of the season down the stretch. But 28 turnovers? ND's defense wasn't THAT good.

To go from being up 10 to start the 4th and lose by 14? Yikes.

Holly stood on the sideline dumbfounded as per usual.

Tennessee has a bright future. Their youngsters are really talented. But Holly is just not an elite coach.

Congrats to Notre Dame. They just did to Tennessee what UConn did to them. Complete turning of the tables.
