Tell me about the NEW Big Ten

Elle Ladine is on a 3 game heater. 28, 28 and 26. Shooting 32-48 overall and 14-22 from 3. That's pretty good, right? Coincides with a 3 game winning streak, including 2 on the road.

Really? As few games as the conference shows on BTN rather than B1G+, they've featured too many stinkers. Got another lined up for Thursday--2-14 Purdue @ 1-15 Penn St. Why? So many good games not available to the masses and they choose a dud like this?

My paranoia kicked in. That can happen when your team lets leads slip away late in games frequently. Minnesota went on a 12-0 run to make it scary, but a huge 3 from Ladine fended off the charge. 72-62 final. 26 for Ladine. She's been on fire down the stretch. One of the better players nobody knows?
I think so. Ladine is a lot of fun to watch play.

As I sit and try to figure out the seeding in the Big Ten tournament, there appears to be an anomaly regarding the number of league games each team will end up playing. With just one game left for everybody as near as I can figure out, most teams have played 17 total.
However Maryland, Indiana, Purdue and Penn State are sitting at 16 League games and will finish with 17 not 18.
Curious.

What gives with this and how will affect seeding? For example, with a win over Purdue Sunday Indiana will vault to 6th place over Michigan, MSU, and Oregon if those three lose their tougher games.

Maryland, IU, Purdue and PSU all play tonight and this weekend. All teams will play 18 games, including the Northwestern forfeits.

Every team has 18 conference games. The discrepancy you're seeing today is that, while most Big Ten teams have one game left on their schedule, the four you mentioned all play one game tonight and one game Sunday.

Maryland and Indiana play tonight and Purdue and Penn State play tonight. That will get them even with the rest of the conference to have played 17 games.

Sunday, Maryland plays OSU [this will get Maryland to 18], Indiana plays Purdue [getting both to 18], and Penn State plays Rutgers [getting PSU to 18].

Thanks. Must have been looking at an incomplete schedule. That clarifies things a bit. To me it looks like Oregon, Indiana, Iowa, and Nebraska are likely to end up 10-8. Michigan may join this group if they lose @Illinois. MSU looks like an 11-7 if they handle Minnesota at home.

Looks like Penn St. is going to lay claim to the worst of the worst. About to lose at home to Purdue. Everybody else has at least 2 wins, they are stuck at 1. How in the world did Ohio St. lose to them?

Big PSU rivalry game, beat tOSU and nothing else matters. (The Big10 league office tries to make the PSU rivalry with Maryland and Rutgers, cmon Rutgers? and who has a rivalry with crabcakes?)

So another great year for the Nittany Lions!

Classic example of taking you opponent for granted. Ohio State lost by 3 but it should have never gotten to that point. Hats off to Penn State. They had a huge 2nd quarter in that game and they held on for the win in that matchup

Okay, now the Dawgs are officially part of the B1G blob. Tied w/ Minnesota at 8-9, Iowa and Nebraska 1 game up at 9-8, Indiana 9-7.
Welcome to the Blob! As a Gopher and Michigan fan, Minnesota is always in this cluster. Michigan does a little better in advancing out of this Bermuda Cluster than Minnesota. Glad that you guys could join us. Cheers!!

Is Minnesota's bid slipping away? They're down to Washington currently. Their last game is at Michigan State...
Slipping? We are booted and suited for the WNIT. We will see how we do in the Big Ten tournament but I can see Minnesota in the WNIT or one of the other tournaments.

I love Michigan but man they are so inconsistent.
Yes, but that's to be expected with a young squad. At the same time, I think they're further ahead than where people thought they would be. Speaks well for the next few seasons.

True. We are a lot further ahead than what I was expecting, and they will get better next season.

Looks like heavy minutes caught up to Gophers in East Lansing. Wheels came off in 4th

Britt Prince is back for Nebraska! Happy to see that. Beating Northwestern handily. Markowski continuing her strong push down the stretch, 30 points. Another good game for Rimdal as well.

A bit back and forth, but Rutgers beat Penn St. Nittanys with a DISASTROUS 1-17 campaign. Can their coach survive this?

Yep. Just ran out of gas in the end. The battle was tough but hats off to Michigan State. My beloved hometown Minnesota Gophers just ran out of gas in that 4th quarter.

Indiana blew out Purdue.

Wisconsin hung tough for much of the game but Iowa won 81-66. Big games for Stuelke and Olsen.

Yes indeed. I love these close games. You find out so much about your team.
Too good of a game to finish in regulation, so OT here we come.

Ohio State probably asking that same question.
