Watched Iowa/Nebraska last night. Good game. Hawks really blew the win by bricking free throws at the end of regulation so the game went OT with the Huskers winning in Iowa City. The Hawk/Husker games have been really entertaining games the last few years. Couple of Clark triple doubles if I recall correctly and OT in the conference tourney in Mpls last season to.

Observation, Syla Swords and Olivia Olsen of Michigan and Rutger's Kiyomi McMiller are getting all of the freshman PR but dang, the Huskers freshman point guard Britt Prince is looking REALLY good.

Bueckers and Tessa Johnson would have been nasty.

Throw Olivia Olson in as another Minnesotan we really wanted home with the Gophers. Averaging 16 pts a game as a freshman for Michigan.

Was looking at the schedule and the 16-2 Gophers are in for a rough Big Ten schedule stretch. Already had to play Top 10 Maryland on the road but they also get UCLA, USC and Ohio State on the road for four Top 10 roadies in conference play. Throw in @ ranked MSU for good measure. Yikes.

She doesn't get talked about enough in BIG10 conversations. I'd have her above McMiller personally.

The Gophers played Maryland tough the other day, for a few quarters. I was impressed. That is a brutal stretch of games for the Gophers, but they will get through this stretch.

Watching McMiller and Swords compete against each other for the first time today. Man, talk about contrasting styles. Felt like McMiller was trying to do everything on her own where Swords was like a Swiss Army knife doing a little bit of everything, including great defence on McMiller.

Nice article on Coach Burns of USC and her impact on this team defensively. Louisville lost something when she left their program in my opinion. Her impact on Marshall's development alone is impressive.

Ugh. Just saw that Minnesota vs Michigan is on BIG10+ tonight. While I know the focus maybe on tOSU and football, this could have been a great game on BTN for fans to watch today.

The Big Ten has really dropped the ball on their tv scheduling. I know they didn’t know what to expect with Michigan this season and same with Minnesota but…I’ve barely seen any WBB games on BTN. So many good matchups have been relegated to BTN+.

Michigan plays at Minnesota on Wednesday, not today.

Tcday we have a couple of non-conference games televised on Fox: UCLA vs Baylor and Maryland vs Texas. One B1G game: Wisconsin at Nebraska on BTN.

Thanks for the correction, but my point about the game should be on BTN stands.

I agree. This would have been a nice game to watch on TV

It was a very entertaining game. The three Michigan freshman (Swords, Olson & Holloway) carried them to victory in a hard-fought game. Hobbs was terrible, and Kampschroeder was mostly MIA. Still wish Phelia had stayed (and was healthy).

Of all the games that they decide to put on BTN...Illinois vs. Northwestern? Really? That makes absolutely no sense. Weird.

The BTN program director makes some interesting choices on the games they decide to show. At least they have a decent game on today, Michigan vs Michigan State.
Well, the first half of the Michigan-MSU game was decent. Nice crowd at Crisler, great rivalry game. Unfortunately, my Wolverines didn't come out to play the second half and Sparty did. Beat us by 30 points. I barely remember us scoring any points in the second half. It was that ugly.

Well it was a game on yesterday. Michigan started out looking good. That 2nd half, Michigan State just kicked it up 2-4 notches. Michigan had zero answers.

Calling the game "ugly" does not begin to describe the a** whipping, massacre that Michigan State layed on to the "all mighty" Michigan WBB team with its alleged "superior" recruits and players (especially in this case when compared to MSU's) in the second half of the game. I enjoyed watching all the Michigan fans standing the whole game, waiting for their Wolvie studs to show their "Stuff" and chew up and spit out Sparty! Never happened, Nadda, Nope, Nyet! In fact, it was the opposite that occurred and then some! It was a complete slaughter and far worse that most fans would have believed possible.

OK, I know several folks on this forum were quick to tell me how Michigan has clearly surpassed MSU and has ascended to top WBB program in the state. You pooh-poohed MSU's sweep of UofM last season as being insignificant, and just a small bump in road with everything pointing to UofM's other recent "achievements" being far more telling and important compared to anything MSU's has done over the last 5-7 years. I acknowledged the slippage of Suzy Merchant and her teams during her last several years before retiring for medical reasons, but that MSU was still the better of the 2 programs historically, over the the entire lifespan of the conference. Of course you argued that the more recent "achievement's" by UofM outweigh the more plentiful, long term historical ones by MSU, again ignoring the sweep of MSU over UofM last season. Now MSU beat UofM's butt raw Saturday and will do so again on Feb 9th in East Lansing. And you will try and argue that a 4 game winning streak (sweep of Michigan for a second season in a row) is still not important because UofM players are young and less experienced compare to MSU's. Well, not if you have listened to all the hype of how good UofM recruits and players are. And so it goes.

Oh dear....just tripped across this during my lunch break. There could be more going on than we realize at Wisconsin than we thought with respect to Coach Moseley. Mind you, these are allegations primarily from one player however the article does note others are saying they experienced the same issues.

I think the wheels are going to fall off for
Minnesota now. Just like last year. My prediction is 5-6 or 4-7 finish to the season for them.

Former Wisconsin women's basketball player alleges abuse under Marisa Moseley

Who wants to touch on this? Abuse allegations and racially-insensitive comments--whoo boy!

—The 6-foot-5 forward alleges a pattern of abuse, including being forced to sign a release granting Moseley access to her therapy sessions under the threat of being removed from the basketball team. "My coach made me sign a release form for her to access my therapy sessions, or I'd be kicked off the team," Towers posted. She also claimed the staff pressured her into mental health decisions, stating, "My coach gave me a choice between admitting myself to a mental hospital or getting kicked off the team!" Towers also shared another alarming claim, stating, "My coach and staff said if I were to say anything remotely close to thoughts of su!c!de or de@+h to my therapist, I would be kicked off the team."

—Towers detailed other incidents, including being excluded from team trips, forced to undergo testing for autism against her will, and being subjected to a three-strikes policy that was unique to her. One strike reportedly stemmed from forgetting to turn in a goal sheet on time.

“If you look at my team, we’re pretty much the United Nations. I have the first Indian woman to ever play at the Power 5. I have kids who are Nigerian and kids who are Dominican and kids who are Mexican and kids who are run of the mill white because they’re still there too,” Moseley said.

Moseley quickly added, “My mom is white, just so nobody is offended. My mom is a white woman from the Berkshires.

“Very white.”

Also, considering that Scott Merritt has coached for Marisa Moseley AND Carolyn Kieger (who is also the subject of extreme abuse), I wouldn't touch that dude with a 50-foot pole.
