Tell me about the NEW Big Ten

Washington has recently decided to go w/ a 4 guard starting lineup. I'm not a huge fan of this move.

Betts or JuJu for BIG POY? Will be an interesting race the next month. JuJu struggling with efficiency more than I expected in conference play. Thought there would be more games like UConn.

Iowa and Indiana both took a loss in Eugene, then got a W in Seattle. Let's try reversing that! Maryland jumped out ahead of Oregon early.

Wow. Only 15 of 18 teams make the B1G Tourney. So...there's actually a battle between 5 teams who can't beat anybody to get those last 2 spots.

On Sunday we have Penn St. (1-11) @ Northwestern (0-10) and Purdue (1-10) @ Rutgers (1-11). A double dip of "somebody has to win!"

.-.
Round 2 of the Michigan-Michgan State rivalry is on my radar. Will be interesting to see how things play out in East Lansing.

Curious to see how Round 2 turns out. Michigan forgot that there was a 2nd half in their first match up with their rivals from East Lansing.

I don't know if it's a matter of forgot or they tightened up after that run in the 3rd. From what I remember from the game, it felt they were pressing too hard to make it up versus working their offence. We'll see what happens today.

Northwestern finally gets a conference win 69-63 over Penn St. Wow PSU really needed to take care of business in this one.

The middle of the pack of this conference is insane. The change in position after today is hilarious. Loving the chaos ;)

Isn't this pretty much par for the course for the B1G? Seems to be a yearly occurrence.

Iowa vs. Nebraska tomorrow a chance to further muddy the waters.

This season seems more wonky than previous ones to me.

Maybe just the sheer volume of 18 teams?

What's the opposite of a breakaway group? Those 5 at the bottom is pretty weird, you usually don't see that many teams struggle that much to win games. Then you have the LA school rising to the top and everybody else munched inbetween. Washington isn't quite in the huge middle of the pack group but they've maintained separation from the bottom the whole way.

Most likely, but it still seems more chaotic to me than previous seasons.

Today's match up was a different story. Michigan came out and played the second half to take the game 71-61. I sat next to some Spartans to my left and some fellow Wolverines right in front of me and we all had a great time talking with each other throughout the game.

I was proud of my young Wolverines after the 2nd half showing and eventual loss to the Spartans a couple of weeks ago. GO BLUE!

Was thinking about this last night. The addition of teams is one factor, but that impact isn't because USC and UCLA are the strongest of the four. Teams losing players to graduation and transfers is another.

Teams like Indiana and Iowa haven't been as dominant but seem to be rounding into form when it matters. Looking forward to the BIG10 conference to see how things shake out before March Madness.

Yes indeed. Big Blue came out and got the win. Well done, Big Blue. Glad that you had a great time at the game.

Don't look now, but Iowa with 5 in a row in the Big 10. USC upset plus road wins at Washington, Minnesota and Nebraska.
Playing like a Sweet Sixteen team.
Controlled this game almost the whole way. Great game for Olsen. No coincidence she's found her stride and having her best stretch in an Iowa jersey during this winning streak.

I keep asking--how does anyone leave McCabe open on the 3 point line? It's almost automatic, it's so dumb. Whatever the opponents think they are preventing by having a defender sag off of her, it's not worth the high likelihood she'll splash another long distance shot.

This is why I said I was surprised with how they were dealing with that rough patch. Even with the loss of their seniors last season, they looked to have a roster that seemed competitive. Bet some fans who had given up on the team are happier now on the fan board.

5 to go for Iowa including tOSU, UCLA and Michigan. I've followed them closely this season. Olson had a slump during the losing streak, but has played great in past 2 v USC and NE. (60 points). Could still end up 9-9 in conference.

With nice development of freshmen, they now go 9 deep. Freshman Guyton is a quick guard in KK Arnold mode. Guyton can be paired next year with recruit Addie Deal to make a solid young backcourt. Stuelke back next year too as senior post. Add in a couple returning shooters, and they will have a similar team to current.

Exactly. So for those on the Iowa board saying Jensen can't coach, they need to "touch some grass" as they say. It's not that I'm a huge Iowa fan but man, give Coach Jensen a chance to get settled into her role and let's see how things play out. She hasn't been a head coach for a full season, let alone a few years.

Michigan St. thumped Wisconsin by 20.

Purdue over Northwestern by 15. With several recent games between them, bottom 5 of the Big 10 are now 8-57 in conference.

Michigan outscored Indiana 31-21 in Q4 for the come from behind win 70-67. Could we be seeing a little bit of separation among that huge blob in the middle of the B1G standings?

Agree with you on Iowa fans needing to give Jensen a chance to settle into the job. Still, among the biggest criticisms of Jensen was her insistence in trying to play Stuelke at the 4, and pairing her with O’Grady at the 5. Iowa has played better after Stuelke was moved back to the 5, and the general abandonment of the combined pairing of O’Grady and Stuelke.
