Yankee Conference Reunion -
Maine, UNH, URI, and have BU field an intramural team.
UConn does appear to be heading in that direction. UNH would probably kick their . The Wildcats have a prolific offense, scoring fast and furious. Two TD's and the game is out of range for the Pasqualoni's.

Yeah. Like when Rutgers lost to Villanova a few years back after beating Michigan State.

Can we just join the MAC and get all this pain over with?

We're six weeks closer to 2014, and still 0 for 4 on scheduling any games.

At this point I don't know what Manuel is doing to schedule games. The reality is, it was easier to schedule a game when UConn was in a marginal power 6 conference. Home and homes with strong teams were difficult to get, but they were available. But the task has gotten 1000 times more difficult.

The Big 10 in adding more teams is that much closer to going to a 9 game schedule. Hopefully RU and Maryland don't join next year.

I really hope the Michigan game next year is not in trouble. We have heard about the buyout terms, but nothing about the notice required. Fingers crossed that that date has passed, although when WVU backed out of its contract with FSU it was done in February, 2012, for a September game, a notice period of about 7 months.

Fingers crossed that Tenn's new coach sees some value in coming to CT. Incidentally, the only OOC opponent UConn has in 2015 is Tenn, since UCF was added to the Big East.

So to recap
2014 No teams
2015 Tennessee, no other OOC games scheduled

We can debate Manuel's culpability in conference realignment. There is no debate about who negotiates and signs UConn's football schedule.

Will that game count as in-conference because it was set up prior to them joining the league. I think I recall this happening in the recent past but I cannot recall the participants.

I don't see how it's possible we don't have any OOC games scheduled for 2014. Schedules are usually done years in advance and between our OOC and NNNBE schedules we basically have no idea who we'll be playing in two seasons.

It may be difficult building an out of conference schedule with non BCS opponents when your conference informs you that every non-BCS school has a very good chance of being a BE school by 2014.

I think we probably do have a few scheduled, but the AD has not released the names yet. Another example of the UConn AD not engaging its fanbase. Why be so secretive about it? Most universities post future schedules on their website.

Well, the only reason I disagree with you is that the other schools would have announced anyways. This isn't like opening an envelope at the Academy Awards.

So we are at: there are no games so people complain or there are games but he won't say so people complain or there are games and he tells us and people complain.

Manuel is incompetent. But if we get into the B1G under his watch he can be AD for life for all I care.

To be fair, it's a little early to declare him incompetent. For all we know he was told by the B1G to wait until Maryland negotiates their exit fee and then they'll add us with Virginia. I know it's a little far fetched, but there's still a lot going on so I think it's too early to judge. That being said I'm not optimistic. Between our lack of schedule, our conference affiliation, and considering all of the crap that's up in the air, I wish he'd just sign KO to a long term deal already. I didn't even bring up our football coaching situation.

The lack of OOC games is a big clue to something... It's either:

1) Our conference membership hat is tipped by releasing it (and in a good way)
2) WM is a dope
3) We're completely screwed, and about to release a schedule of 4 MAC OOC.

none of the above is mutually exclusive, though.

Warde - dial up the boys @ Northwestern - they have openings in 2013 + 2014:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...of-nu-football-series-20121018,0,352607.story

..."Vanderbilt has sent a letter to Northwestern canceling its 2013 and 2014 football games, a Big Ten source told the Tribune on Thursday.

Vanderbilt officials made the decision without so much as a phone call to NU officials, according to the source. The timing of the move is apparently related to the Thursday afternoon release of the 2013 SEC schedule, which will feature changes to cross-division rivalries.

But with the SEC set to keep an eight-game conference slate, Vanderbilt officials will have some explaining to do regarding their decision to cancel the NU series. The buyout was “not prohibitive,” according to the source.

The Wildcats beat the Commodores on the road in 2010 and in September, and NU’s best talent is in its freshmen and sophomore classes.

The 2013 game was scheduled for Sept. 14 in Nashville. The 2014 game would have been in Evanston on Sept. 13. Northwestern now has to scramble to find new opponents."...

WM should get this H/H done today. NW is a perfect winnable game for us. Add three more BCS Teams and buy out the MAC games as necessary. We just lost our entire slate of interesting conference games.

I've said this before - we really need to start developing rivalries/relations with B1G schools. First thing I would do is try to get a longterm series going with RU. As an add on maybe play a mens and womens double header at MSG or Barclays (or just home and home - whatever they prefer).

From reading the RU forums, they seem to want a local OOC game annually too - be it UConn, Temple or Army. I think we are the most attractive of that lot.

Memphis just announced a home and home with UCLA 2014/2017. That agreement fills Memphis' four OOC games, which includes games against Ole Miss and UCLA. UCLA goes to Memphis in 2017.
