according to Brandon Clay.

Don't know about Geno, but I'd welcome her to UCconn, especially if Morgan decides to turn pro. :)

TR would need to sit out next season so Morgan's 5th year decision has no impact on the matter.

Taya has left the team twice. She must be unhappy about something. Best wishes to her!

Taya wouldn't have to sit out a year as she will have graduated from Notre Dame. Probably should have added a sentence about her graduation. Sorry.

Well, this makes me sad, but I'm not surprised. It's pretty hard to come back (or expect to be welcomed back) after leaving twice. I hope she has a great season wherever she ends up.

How much eligibility does she have--1 season?

1 season*

*There was some talk that she would try to get a hardship waiver based on the achilles injury she was dealing with this year. I think that would be a tough sell since she officially left the team this year for "personal reasons". Not sure how taking the graduate transfer route affects things.

First school that popped into my head was UCLA. Pretty sure UCLA has lots of room (though they actually are pretty set with bigs/post players). They took a transfer from Oklahoma recently who only has 1 year left (Nicole Kornet, a guard/wing who can shoot). And a few years ago they took in Alyssia Brewer (originally from Oklahoma) who left Tennessee and only had 1 season left.

UCLA was among her final 7 schools. I believe she's a good student, and UCLA has a good reputation for academics. It could be a really refreshing change. Totally different atmosphere. And although, like I said, UCLA has good players at her position already (sophomores Monique Billings and LaJahnna Drummer, freshman Ashley Hearn hasn't played much but highly touted out of HS, then they bring in KLS's former HS teammate Aly Rossenblum 6'4"), she might actually like that there would be less pressure on her, as I believe that might have had to do with why she left.

I could also see Oklahoma being a destination. Coach Coale seems very well-liked by her players, and they could use her more than UCLA probably.

However, if she wants to stay close to home, then it's possible new schools get in the mix that weren't on her list before. DePaul and Northwestern were each in the top 25 at certain points this season. Michigan, too, might be intriguing.

Ultimately, I doubt she "transfers up" (though there's not much higher up than Notre Dame), but rather "transfers down" to a school not expected to make the Final Four every year.

Wish her the best!

Not unexpected. This is a common bond between all of us. Glad she isn't under the looking glass and all the details aren't beaten to death by the likes of the "Talking Heads " at ESPN.Wish her the best.

I'm not surprised. I wish we knew more about why she left the team twice, but for whatever personal reasons, finally she's decided that ND is not the place for her. With only 1 year of eligibility left, I think it's 99.9% unlikely that even if she were interested in UCONN, that Geno would take a pass. He is not interested in JUCO's with only 2 years eligibility. A post player with only 1 year is far too much of a project IMHO.

It will be interesting to see where she ends up. ND runs great offense and teaches their kids how to play the game - she is probably much further developed than if she'd started out anywhere in the SEC, for example (where they teach no offense at all)...

both UConn and Tenn could really use a front line player. Doubt either are likely.

Whatever the reasons, however legitimate, Reimer left her teammates high and dry- twice. Geno speaks all the time about how important it is for every one of his players to earn the trust of her teammates and of the coaching staff. Maybe you would take the risk of relying on her- I would not.

NO WAY Geno would ever welcome Reimer's transfer, no matter how desperate we might be next year for a big.

(Besides, the more I see of Kyla Irwin the more I'm convinced she is going to surprise the 'experts' and become a dynamite power forward next year. Don't need a one-year Reimer rental.)

That is the last thing in the world that would ever happen- Ever! We recruited her. She never improved. She quit how many times?

its too bad because i believe Notre Dame will be the team to beat next year, so it may be bitter sweet.

Notre Dame & South Carolina. The two transfers Grey from NC & Kayla Davis from Georgia Tech will definately strengthen USC next year.

Firstly it wouldn't fill the Morgan gap because she'll still have to sit out a year and secondly I doubt you'll see us take a transfer unless we get 3 years out of her. Maybe in the past but probably not at this stage of the program. It takes a while to acclimate to the Husky system one and dones no matter how talented are not likely to be worth the effort.

Taya will graduate Notre Dame this spring and if she transfers will not have to sit out a year. Just like Imbovich didn't have to sit out this year for So Carolina when she transferred from Virginia.

I wonder if the ND release had an error. It said she was a junior entering this season. Unless she was taking a lot of extra credits throughout her career, would she have enough to graduate this spring?

For her sake, I would hope that if she transfers into a graduate program, she gives as much weight (if not more) to the academic side of the equation as she does the basketball side.

She's made herself a pretty unattractive transfer candidate, but maybe she has that already figured out. Can't see a top 10 picking her up - including McGuff and Dawn.

Ironically Taya would have been playing in the final 4 in her hometown this year.

She's originally from Kansas, so I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up there or another Big 12 school.
