I saw this bench in a state park in Door county, Wisconsin a couple weeks ago. I went in the nature center and asked, Could this refer to Diana Taurasi?” The answer was “Yes”. The woman didn’t know the whole story but said the bench was new and had to be bolted down so it wouldn’t get stolen! It referenced a podcast interview where Diana said something like she always hated doors- meaning obstacles, I think. Whitefish Dunes State Park.
Interesting choice of artifact with which to honor DT. From what I have seen, Diana might have hated doors, but she also never liked having to sit on the bench.😊
