The height is definitely the reason Sanogo hasn't been given much of a chance, which honestly kind of annoys me. Who cares if he doesn't have prototypical NBA size? In the limited time he's played, he's shown that at worst he can still gobble up rebounds despite his height disadvantage. Yet nobody even wants him as a 3rd string center?

I don't follow the NBA like I used to but it's baffling to me. I know he had the knee injury that got him cut in the first place but I figured he would at least have been given another shot by now.

It's on the defensive end why NBA teams aren't high on Sanogo.

This year we need 30 mins a game, most of those without being in foul trouble. If he can do that, I would expect no less than 15/10 a game, letting the shooters have an honest look at the basket.

If we are going to play 4 out, then the 1 in needs to be a difference maker in the Sanogo, Clingan mold. I think he has the stuff to do it.

Reed is going to be a beast and the key to any success we might aspire to have. He will be counted on to score, rebound, and defend while staying on the floor. It's really a big ask but from what I've seen he has been incredibly efficient playing roughly 20 minutes a game. Fouls were the problem, especially early. Later in the season when he was counted on to be the one to play in foul trouble over Samson, he wasn't as efficient but was still holding his own.

i don't think there is a massive difference on their NBA profiles TBH - why for anyone saying Tarris' tourney play is getting him into the first round is rather funny. The size and better rim protection helps. I can't think of many comps.

There’s a pretty big difference in their NBA profiles. Reed is bigger, is a much better passer, is more athletic, and is a better defender. Sanogo in the NBA would never be a focal point of the offense and he’s too limited in the areas that are a real focus for a bench big. Late first vs early second isn’t really a significant difference so whether he has played his way into the first is kind of a meaningless distinction for me. At that point you just need one team to think highly of you since everything is a bit of a crapshoot at that point

Reed is bigger and profiles as a better defender for what NBA teams want their centers to do. The Sanogo reference seems to come up on here alot for UConn fans who try to judge Reed as an NBA prospect and it's off the mark, no NBA teams are asking Reed or Sanogo to replicate their offensive skillsets in the NBA so it's not relevant. Neither of them are getting double digit post ups in the league like they do/did in college.

Highly valued, but not because of their post-up games. Rim protection, rebounding, screening are the big ones. If you check those three boxes and can add any ancillary skills (defensive switchability, vertical spacing, shooting range, post-up game), you'll be in the league for a decade.

Tarris is a rarity! He is a senior playing every game as if its his last. He won't let underclassmen mess up his final chapter. He was willing to carry this team, especially how poor we were shooting.

To me this is why seniors are so valuable and a large part of our success. Just saying underclassmen can't duplicate that sense of urgency in March.

Yes. Seattle and Vegas were approved for exploration. Meaning they’ll start taking bids for ownership groups and the aim is to start playing in the 28-29 season

I think this is part of the reason some of us were so down on Reed at times. It's not that we didn't think he couldn't do it. It just seemed like he wasn't fully engaged at times and it was maddening. I think Hurley has found the right buttons to push for him. I think Hurley was a little frustrated at times with him, especially since he sees him every day in practice & games and knows what he can do.
I'm just hoping to see a game with him going and the outside shooting clicking. Hopefully, we get to see it twice next weekend.

We are going to the Final 4... and although Mullins obviously will rightfully go down in Huskies' lore for hitting an amazing shot, and Karaban with the smart basketball play to pass it to him, and Demary with the great defensive play........

This is so much about Mr. Tarris Reed. He has been an absolute MONSTER for us in this tournament, and he is by far the biggest reason we are going to Indy next weekend.

And I love that so much, because I remember 2 years ago when Dan invited Tarris specifically to come to the Championship Parade in Hartford to celebrate the 2023-2024 championship because he believed that Tarris was his man.

And you know what? he was absolutely, 100% correct. I could not be prouder of young Mr. Reed and watching him come into his own and realizing how good he could be, right before our eyes.

Deserved MOP of the East Region.

There was no Mullins shot without Tarris. Tarris carried the entire team today.

We won by a point on a logo buzzer beater. We did the bare minimum to win. But, it was enough.

Reed, better team defense in the second half, then Silas, AK, Mullins for the win.
 
He's a different player the last month. No doubt .Not sure what happened but his post moves, rebounding, and passing are at a different level. Was he playing hurt most of the year?
