Instead of the back and forth from @RuffRuff and @Inyatkin a few points as someone who has watched every Reibe game and several KU games.
Hopefully Reed is good to go and we don't need to worry too much. Koroma should get some minutes as well guarding Bidunga or Tiller.
- I am curious whether Bidunga would be pulled away from the paint by the threat of Reibe shooting. If so, that would open some things up and help our rebounding.
- Bidunga is pretty good at scoring over taller guys, elevates and releases his baby hook or push/bank shot pretty quickly. Also has good footwork and quick spin moves (Hurley said reminds him of Sanogo). You can see in the clip.
- Reibe has gotten better at rebounding but I'd say his read/reaction on the boards is a bit slow and I think Bidunga could do well on the offensive boards. Need to block him out.
- If he can get the ball in good position, Reibe can certainly score against him, he has a size advantage. Bidunga's shot blocking is most effective against driving or posting guards and wings, not 7 footers.
If I'm Bill Self, I tell Bidunga to play goalie and let the freshmen prove he can hit 3's on the road in a chaotic environment. Reibe's got a nice-looking jumper, but he is 2-7 on the year and shot 33% in the FIBA tourney. So it's not like he's lit it up or anything. And, I mentioned this in another thread, if I'm Kansas, the shot I want to give up is a 7-1 freshman's threes because he is unguarded. I'd much prefer that to AK, Solo, or whoever getting in rhythm.
