We should be. But beating these teams is preferable to getting beat by them. I'll take a win over Florida instead of a Butler or DePaul.

The even funnier part is someone here texted me saying "How long before Excalibur jumps in and starts whining?" I think they were about 25 minutes off in their estimate.
 
Let me just say this: If he misses tomorrow and somehow we beat Florida and their talented bigs, without Bear, I am going to start wondering if he is our best option at center. Reibe is improving with every single game. Again, to be clear: I want him to play. I love Bear. But if we beat yet another ranked team without him, one must start to wonder.

Let him heal and get Reibe more experience- those are win-wins. Reed just isn’t physically ready to play. The chances are real that he might injure himself again & perhaps more severely. Reibe at 100% is better than Reed at 50%. An injured Reed does not increase the chances to beat Florida. It just doesn’t make sense to me to have Reed risk further injury if he is not physically at 100%.

I mean if you look at the BIG 3 in front of us. Az, Michigan, Duke, all have a bigger pair at 4 and 5. A Reibe at the 4 could be interesting or at least give some different match ups. That could neutralize those teams while they don't have the guards we have.

None of those teams have anything better than Demary+Ball+Mullins+Malachi

We might see it in special circumstances but I think we've seen the Hurley/AK dynamic play out long enough that he doesn't want to take him off the floor for too long

Well to be fair, 1 minute on the court together is more than the previous group of bigs so expectations are low. That's also 1 minute too many in my opinion

Very encouraging news! I doubt they will be putting him out there if he's at a big risk for injury. But this double-big thing may indicate he's not 100%. Also maybe dictated a bit by the matchup as well as how well Reibe is playing.

Reed, Reibe, AK, Demary, and Solo/Mullins would be interesting to see.

Considering Riebe is a freshman and no other past UConn bigs have played a second with Riebe, it's kinda not necessary to make thst statement???
 
I like Reed. I think he is a key piece of UConn basketball. But if he is gonna miss a very big and very important part of the season, just redshirt him and come back healthy next season. Otherwise people will be making excuses like they did all last season for McNeeley well after he came back.

the twin towers comment interesting....i suspect the goal is to get karaban more on the perimeter...or maybe the goal to get him more rest.

Will be an interesting look.
 
If Reibe is the shooter he has the reputation as internationally that is fine. He played with Hannes Steinbach on the German U19 team who is mostly an interior player.
