What is Reed not doing to get himself healthy?I guess you could take it to mean that Reed isn't doing what he needs to get himself healthy, which is different from "he could play but isn't willing".
It's grossI guess I'm blinded by Husky blue for saying this but some of us are getting way too comfortable with stuff we're accusing our players of doing
I was confused by that also. Borges said knee but earlier in the article he wrote this:When did it become ankle and knee?
What is Reed not doing to get himself healthy?
We don't know, but it's the only somewhat logical implication of Hurley's statement. The whole "soft" thing continues to be a stretch.
I'm dying to see a opposing centers, breathing a sigh of relief as Reed goes to the bench only to look up and see Eric coming in.In fairness though Hurley doesn’t tell us anything about injured players until the guys are ready. So while you and others could be right in your assumptions, Deep could as well based on how you take Danny speaking up “needing him to get on the court” and being frustrated he’s not.
We wil hear something eventually but either way, we need him in the lineup battling. I am dying to see him and Reibe on the court together in certain matchups.
I remember watching one of the post games and Hurley said hurt ankle and knee. But I’m old and have drunken too many beers in my life to be certain of anything.I was confused by that also. Borges said knee but earlier in the article he wrote this:
Reed was sidelined for the third time in the Huskies' last four games by an ankle issue.
So is it both or was Borges just confused and misspoke in what he wrote in my other post about the knee?
is it Game Time, yet?Is Tarris officially a no-go for tonight’s game vs ETAM?
If he is out next Tue, then I will be worried a bitReed out tonight per Borges. Makes sense.
Don't need him. Let Reibe develop and let Reed rest.Reed out tonight per Borges. Makes sense.
Oops!Bidunga would eat Reibe up. He is a wildly athletic 5.
That is a heck of an assumptionThis situation smells like he will be out until the new year and when he comes back he won’t be 100%.
What? Maybe he plays against Florida and maybe not, but if he’s not 100%, why would you play him against a cupcake? Get Reibe the reps and get Reed the rest. It would make zero sense to bring him back for East Texas A&M.If he wasn’t ready to play in last night’s tune up, I have a hard time believing he will be ready for tougher competition next week. This situation smells like he will be out until the new year and when he comes back he won’t be 100%.
Exactly my point. It does not appear he is game ready let alone 100%. If he were, ETAM would be the perfect game to allow him to ease into game flow. What? Literally the exact opposite of your point. He doesn’t need to ease into game flow. Even if he could play, there would be no point in bringing him back for ETAM if he would be better served by rest.Exactly my point. It does not appear he is game ready let alone 100%. Ok..badly worded sarcasm on my part I guess.Literally the exact opposite of your point. He doesn’t need to ease into game flow. Even if he could play, there would be no point in bringing him back for ETAM if he would be better served by rest.
Need him for florida given their front court. Give 10 minutes and rest during lowly big east schedule. Seed will be determined nowIt’s been said, but I’d rather err on the side of resting him than see him come back at the equivalent of where he was vs. Illinois (not that I know he’d be only at that level). No question he helped us win that game with his presence on the floor, but his mobility was noticeably hindered and that made me just worry about him getting hurt worse the whole time he was in.
Edit: hit —> him*
Why would be EASE his ankle against a cupcake. There is nothing to test. Even if he felt 100% there is zero reason to play him that game. It’s an ankle, he can move effectively or he can’t. Not using it and getting treatments are the smartest thing he can doOk..badly worded sarcasm on my part I guess.
Disagree on the ETAM point. If he was able to give it a go, it’s the perfect game to test the ankle.
My larger point is this: he is not ready and given how he looked against Illinois it may be awhile before he is. Ankle injuries are pesky..probably more so for a player his size. I view the game to game designation as gamesmanship. I hope I am wrong.
Do you really think Tarris is making all the decisions ? I I’ll bet he will not play until after Christmas, maybe New Year as someone else suggested. It doesn’t matter how tough you are, if you’re not 99%+, it’s not worth going at this stage of the season. When you start questioning an athletes physical toughness after successive injuries, you are asking for trouble. He may not be the toughest person ever, who knows? Until he feels confident in his body, you aren’t going to get Jackshiite from him. We are still a long way from the moment when Hurley has to say it’s now or never Tarris.I’m starting to wonder if he’s soft.
I know what the responses will be. I want him healthy. He’s the Kodiak bear. He must be really hurt. They’re playing it safe. Yeah yeah.
We are going to now play Kansas and Arizona with significant minutes from Koroma. Get on the court, Reed.
