Tarris GTD

Nothing worse than throwing shots at players and hiding behind secret info that doesn’t exist.

Keep your opinions to yourself if you can’t defend them.
I can defend them. Just not here.

Rather than shaking your fist at the sky, I'd suggest that maybe you poke around a bit on it. Especially if you know someone that you trust.

No one is 100%. If he didnt re-aggravate then get him on the court and you can sit him out against our cupcake on Friday.
Saying he didn’t reaggravate is an interesting comment only because it makes no sense. Maybe Hurley doesn’t think he needs Reed to beat KU? lol

Gotta make a lot of threes tonight. Our bigs are likely to be in foul trouble

It’s more about the risk of re-aggravating. Which is why I stand by my position that he shouldn’t have played on Friday (and said the same in the chat during the game). A high ankle sprain is not a tape it up and go type of injury.

Has anyone followed Tarris the kid? Please tell me what about his persona suggests he's tough? Big does not equal tough. There is nothing about him that is tough - Hurley has to use gimmicks to pull it out of him, like the Kodiak. Tarris is a lot of wonderful things, but tough is not one of them. Very talented, and part of the "nice" group and why this whole board was claiming we needed some dawgs last year.

Have you followed this injury at all? It does not take on the typical shape of a bad high ankle sprain. First, he PLAYED on it after he injured it against BYU. Then, the staff didn't know he was even hurt until he said something on MONDAY. Then he comes back two weeks later? Then Hurley said he came back about a week early (3 week injury). A high ankle sprain is a 4-6 week minimum injury if bad. This is VERY likely a pretty minor ankle sprain.

Could you imagine Cam Spencer not playing in his only chance at the Phog if 80%? He played this game two years ago on a bum foot and took the last shot. Gamers game. Tarris will be laughing on the bench. If Cam couldn't play he'd be seething.

Some of the issue here is the staff is so guarded about telling us anything, we're often guessing.
Listen, I’m tired of this, too. But you throw out about a dozen assumptions in here. You don’t know anything other than what you see on TV. Blame the staff if you want to, but it’s a fact. You compare him to another player, with no reason to think the situations are comparable. You even predict the future, saying how he’ll be acting during the game. Based on what? Nothing.

This isn’t me having Husky blinders on or being a homer. This is me thinking you’ve written a really strange, off putting post. One of many. Sorry if that’s not how a message board should work

The only hard evidence we have is Reed waving off a sub at the end of the BYU game. Doesn’t sound soft to me . . .

I’ve watched Reed play, he is the opposite of soft

This is just all about frustration. I do think we should not make it personal.

I think the reason it is so frustrating is multi fold.

One we are spoiled as fans and probably expect more than we should. Look at Eagles fans as an example.

Two and probably more important to the immediate level of frustration is that if you know basketball then you know how good this team is if we could ever play at full strength.

My hope is that we do get 100% healthy and that my assumption that this is a well constructed championship level team shows to be accurate. I truly believe it is because it has one characteristic that most great teams have in that the sum of the parts is this teams magic. We don’t have a group of 5 stars like Dook but we have a bunch of parts that will fit perfectly when if they get a chance to play in the roles the staff anticipated.

Now we just need to get and stay healthy.

Self and Danny are playing Liar's Poker re: GTD.. Peterson's out-What's in your hand Danny? (re: Reed)

I don't - I'd rather have had a full Peterson & a full Reed. We'd have a better chance. They have two very talented bigs we are going to need to deal with.

This I agree with, if we’re talking about hypotheticals.

Castle was almost ready but skipped the Phog to come back the next game.

Spencer actually started at Loyola with a bad hip, then shut it down for a while and missed nine conference games to try to get healthy … and Loyola lost 8 in a row without him. Then he came back for the last month and had a good Patriot League Tournament before having surgery in the offseason.

Nobody at this level really cares about their one chance to play in Kansas’ stupid barn. They worry about making millions at the next level.
