Great pregame piece on Washington and the adversity they've faced: Mike Neighbors' two heart attacks, the departure of McGuff right after Plum's recruitment, Chantel Osahor being hit by a car while riding her bike, and Katie Collier fighting through leukemia.

I know everyone loves syracuse in this game. But, Washington is way more disciplined.

I agree with you there. Washington will have to limit their turnovers and play great perimeter defense. The battle between Plum and Peterson will go a long way in determining the winner.

Just thinking about Kelsey Plum being the coach's daughter. Too bad UConn doesn't have a player coming in next year who has the training and toughness from being the coach's daughter. :)

Just saw a player from 'Cuse with purple hair... shame on her..... :P

Anybody check out the stats from the first time these teams met? Ugly. Among the lowlights: Washington and Syracuse combined to go 15 for 63 on 3-pointers.

Did anyone warn the Washington coach about the handshake line after the game?? Orange does like any Husky :P

They are already a combined 1-6...

don't esp. fear 'Cuse, but I don't like them. rather play UW, also to give them the honor of playing the championship game.

Cuse is the clear aggressor. Have to wonder if this pressure is gonna wear on Wash.

Washington's committed two charges, one on Plum and one on Osahor. They have to be smarter than that. That's a personal foul and turnover in one.

Coach Q was on the court on that last play.... very close to the Husky players... someone needs a "T"

Washington 4-8
Syracuse 3-7

Both of these teams shoot and make a lot of 3's. That's disconcerting, because it's the only way a team can beat us, and both of them are capable.

Syracuse press is working..wonder, if they win, how it'll work on Moriah..

Wash in big trouble.

Syracuse's pressure is denying Washington that comfort zone that it needs to operate. Syracuse is doing what it does: gain extra possessions through turnovers and O-boards, and hit just enough shots to win.

From the ESPN ticker: "(1) UConn obliterates (2) Oregon State to reach title game" -- ouch :D

Syracuse has completely disrupted Washington so far. They've got the rest of this quarter to figure it out, IMO. If the lead continues to expand, they have no chance the rest of the game.

(edit) Unfortunately, Washington's problems in this look structural, related to the matchups. Which means it'll be very hard for them to figure it out. Washington by design plays a rather immobile zone, that is having trouble dealing with a team spreading the floor like Syracuse. At the other end, Washington is a turnover-prone team, playing against a turnover-generating team. Bad combinations all around.

Not understanding the Washington game plan here. Thought they would methodically break the press, then work the clock .
