Yeah obviously it sucks but I can appreciate a thriller of a game. I'd rather lose the way we did than not take the game to OT.

Sometimes you can just appreciate a good game instead of feeling upset that your team lost
Not in our situation. When you have a P4 team on road on the fritz, need to step on the juggler. Not play scared. Awful loss.

You wonder why the defense was tired? Now, you know.

Third quarter offense
Field Goal.
Three and out.
Three and out.
Three and out.
Six and out.

Four quarter offense
Three and out.
Three and out.
Five and out.
Six and out.
Touchdown.

I think he's still probably the best QB in our locker room (maybe not by the wide margin that some thought 3 hours ago)...
Why do we seem to be allergic to getting great QBs. I’m not asking for the next Heisman winner, just someone who can consistently make the big plays.

Horrible loss. We have 2 more chances to beat a P4 team. Need to do that make the leap to a respectable program. And the defense on the TD pass to make it 17-12 was puzzling. Why stop when a guy has you beat by 2 steps? There were no other receivers in the area that he had responsibility for

1) Any team that misses the playoffs is in the same boat we are in. Bowling is now the target.

2) Better to lose early than late in the season. Humans have an amazingly short memory.

3) We are competitive and worth watching. We can only get better.

Cuse was going after the same side of the secondary all 2nd half.
The offensive play calling in the 2nd half was pure rubbish as well as the soft prevent D in the 4th qtr.
This loss lies with Mora - he acted like he wasn't even involved and the HC could stop those awful run only plays in the 4th qtr

Coaching malpractice, playing not to lose instead of playing to win
Was it malpractice when the passes aren't on target? They had a ton of plays left out there.

Disappointed in the defense folding late. Not sure where breakdowns were.

Also, the OT TD by Syracuse wasn't a catch. Why did they not review it?

Also, played game like they didn't think Syracuse could move the ball in our defense.

This looks like my heart rate graph.

It's not an allergy. It's about $1,000,000 in NIL money...

This one is going to hurt for a long time. They'll play the rest of this season, they'll win more games, we'll feel good again, but this one is going to stick in our craw for a long time.

They outplayed Cuse for 55 minutes. They had the game and let it get away. It sucks in every way.

BUT - you move on and get ready for the next game. That's sports.
You need to win the P4 games, all the other wins mean Jack in terms of recognition and feeling as if the program is advancing. When you have a P4 team on the road, especially one that we want to catch up to in team of regional perception, you don’t play scared.

The 3rd and 11 reverse play with Bell I didn’t understand that. What does running the ball there really do at least run the ball with Edward’s and gain some yardage there. Cuse was going to have time regardless. Why not just run it there to put you in a more manageable situation to either kick the fg or go for it, run the clock down call TO then talk it over. I rather we throw the Ball to Bell then run a stupid reverse play with him that’s not a hindsight play Cuse was getting pressure and it was a slow developing play as well.

Had a chance of course to wrap it up earlier then that.

This was a game to win and UConn coaching staff gave it away with playing not to lose and did just that. I am so mad and I don't want to hear about playing close. BS, this should have been a win. They play prevent defense which gave up yards in the middle of the field all game long. The offense of running the entire 4th quarter till they had to pass needed to not to happen. You have to put your opponent out when you have them on the canvas. '

When the offensive strategy got dialed back and they stopped playing football we stopped making 1st downs. Shocking I know.

When they needed a football and suddenly played to win the dynamic changed.

They players and the coaches stopped playing football and started “managing”.

It was obvious to all.

People are complaining about about our defense but to me I am more disappointed in our offense today. Its always going to be hard to hold P4 teams under 20 points. If we had better offense output today we would have cruised to victory.

Agreed, I thought he bobbled it at first and by the time he cane down with it his foot wasnt on the line and he was out of bounds.
But the answer to your question on why they didn't review is likely because they are in a P4 and we are not. Always better for the P4 team to win than us.

almost fully agree, except with that last line. we can definitely get worse. we've done it before lol

The nature of college football right now simply doesn’t allow for slow, long-term points of improvement across the years. While we had a great season last year and it’s only been 1 so far, we already need to be at a point where we’re straight up beating these teams. Otherwise, we will continue to be in the position we’re in right now.

Bad loss, we completely sold at the very end. We have 2 more chances, have to convert or else we haven’t improved; we’ve stagnated.

This one stings bad, just run the ball and hope that Freeman makes his longest kick ever.

Just another typical UConn Football Saturday.

Unfortunately we are what we are. We will win 80% of our non-P4 games and lose 90% of our P4 games.

We are in a spot to win almost all of these games against the dregs of the ACC and always find a way to lose. Just where we are in today’s college football landscape.

As painful as it is, it is still better than where we were 5 years ago when we were a complete joke of a program.

Frustrating? Absolutely. But completely expected at this point.

Be honest. I can’t be the only one who knew exactly how the game was going to end once we got to the 4th quarter. Obviously cheering for it not to happen, but it ended exactly as I think we all knew it would.

That was a rough one. Obviously there were some issues today but without the bad snap leading to 3 points we probably sneak out of there with a W.
