The D was good after they settled down. But the slow starts have to stop or they might lose next week too. The poor tackling early helped put the team in a hole & uconn got lucky with with the early offensive PI away from the play, negating their TD, & their missed field goal. Plus, uconn has to more consistently cash in on opportunities.Disappointed because of all the missed opportunities, but happy with the effort.
GO HUSKIES!! BEAT UMASS!!
I do think that the take away is that we can compete against P4 teams. If we are in a conference and, thus are able to recruit a slightly better level of athlete and get jobbed less by the refs, we compete comfortably.JF could have been better today. I wonder if he could be more accurate if he took a hair of velocity off.
Our play calling was odd at times.
A couple head scratching ref moments. No PI when our guy was mugged, that receiver for SU was clearly out. There was another biggie but I'm forgetting.
Regardless, SU was just a little better and deserved the W. McCord was the difference.
Nope… bring ‘em onGame went a lot better than I thought it would. Glad we covered. We have a nice squad. Happy with our great progress
Hope this puts the "we need Rutgers" thought in a Bowl game to end
Especially after the first two plays!Much closer than I expected
Nope… bring ‘em on

DC needs to own that. You should never get beat long on an opening series. Give up mid field if you must , but stop the run and and long ballEspecially after the first two plays!
I saw some fans on the Cuse board that expected a minimum 17+ point win today. Boy were they bummed lolThree ACC losses by a total of 15 points.

This game was largely about QB play.,We are headed in the right direction. We need far better QB play (Welliver), more and better players in a few areas, more speed on defense and a bit more muscle on both lines of scrimmage.
Yes, that sums it up. We did get hosed but can’t pin the loss of that - this goes w/ territory vs ACC. I never thought I’d be so appreciative of refs in the AAC - they seem to simply call the game. ACC, Buckle up for at least 3 head scratching calls or no- calls.I do think that the take away is that we can compete against P4 teams. Rome wasn't built in a day. We're progressing, frustratingly slow sometimes, but definitely headed in the right direction.
Well then we'd be 9-3, right?Sorry to be a glass half empty guy but I was very disappointed with this loss. It would have been sweet to finish 8-4 and say we beat a P4 conference team.
I'm good with this take. Didn't see the game. Forgot about it until 2... whoops. Other things going onI do think that the take away is that we can compete against P4 teams. UConn offensive play calling should be under the microscope a bit.Took too long for JF to figure it out today. Think it wasn't until the 3rd quarter where Bell told him to take about 10 mph off the fastball and just hit his spots.. and then he fired 2 more to other receivers after that for drops. Then he finally settled down.
Cuse's receivers were very good and McCord was hitting all his spots. Said earlier in the week, the couple times I watched him, when he had time he just carved up secondaries. We were within a score or two all game, it seemed like we really abandoned the run.. then would run a stretch to the short side of the field and get bottled up and revert back to trying to throw it.
