Plus, I don't think anyone would have hammered someone who thought the 2006-07 team would struggle. AJ Price was playing at 50 percent capacity (as we know now) and looked terribly slow and unathletic, and Thabeet was so raw he couldn't even stay upright for more than two straight possessions. All we had for leadership was a sophomore power forward. I know I didn't take any wins for granted with that bunch and was just hoping we could eke our way into the tournament somehow (a dream which was dead by February, unless we won the BET).

USF played them even for 35 minutes. In the last 5 minutes UConn made half a dozen big plays... USF half a dozen bonehead plays (terrible shot selection, missed FT's, bad defense, etc). That's what separates good teams from the bad, perennial loser teams.
