Sunday's games

Mississippi State up 15 on Texas A&M in 3Q. Schaefer battling his former boss.

Sue Bird doing color analysis for the SEC Network? Seems kinda weird.
Well, the AAC Network color analyst job was already taken

I can see UVA scoring 74 on FSU in Charlottesville..... they get their chance in a few weeks. They put up 81 on Louisville.
I would bet the house they score at best in the low sixties with FSU by 20. More likely 70 odd sum by 50 some. By the way Walz's team impresses me not at all. Perhaps more than this current ND configuration though.

Only 71 in regulation, 10 in overtime.

Baylor needs to put Alexis Jones back in the game... only 1 assist shy of a triple double.

Go Karlie..........................Lou is rooting for you!! :D

.-.
Good... they put Jones back in the game

that was quick.... triple double

Early against Washington, Stanford is trying to do some of the things I've been screaming about to defeat them. Run the lanes all night, play with pace in the half court, make Osahor pass or dribble from the high post, run Plum on offense, don't double her. Let Plum drive for her baskets., and of course make Plum go to her right. Also play up on Romeo and make her drive. And run Osahor into the ground. So far they're not running Romeo off the perimeter and they're doubling Plum, occasionally using corner traps. Also missing easy and open shots.

Must not be working too well. Stanford up 21 to 12 at end of 1st quarter.

Well, they've been doubling Plum and not running Washington's shooters off the perimeter. All not good strategies.

With 4 minutes to go before the half, Kelsey Plum has 24 pts on 9-12 shooting, including 6-6 from the arc.
Yea..... she gets my POY vote!

Stanford again shows how difficult it is for teams to play with pace for one quarter none the less all 4. Most teams want to pass around the perimeter or use screens (especially on the high post out west) Constant cutting and curls takes work, timing and execution. Also you just can't do it for this game, you players need to do it all the time. Stanford again showing how hard it is to run every shooter, and Washington has many, off of the perimeter. Stanford again showing how difficult it is to play against Plum. You have to make her work on both ends and play physical against her. Players are told and practice for it, but during gameplay they forget she's left handed. Force her to shoot 2's, not 3's, make her go inside where there's help. The idea is to wear her down for the 2nd half. And run Osahor into the ground. Play this team for the 3rd and 4th quarter. A lot of open 3's for Washington.

Plum has 26 at the half, on 10-of-13 shooting and 6 of 6 from 3.
UW up 45-33 over Stanford.

Stanford now running all the shooters off the perimeter and doubling Plum only in the corners. It's helping. Also Stanford hitting their open shots in the 3rd.

Stanford is also making Plum work defensively by taking her inside.

.-.
By making Plum work defensively she's drawn her 4th foul at the end of the 3rd. Stanford down by 5 at the end of the 3rd.

Tara also did a smart thing against Osahor. Stanford pushed her off her line offensively making her dribble to get into position. Then and only then did offside help against her come down low forcing her to pass under pressure. Why Tara is, second to Geno, the best in the country. Plum starting to look weary as the games pace catches up to her.

Plum has 36. The rest of the team is 6-32.

Stanford has done a masterful job stopping everyone but Plum. And got hot in the 3rd quarter to even things up. This one's going to the wire.

These Pac-12 commercials are funny...... The Conference of Champions  Maybe in the sports few care about.

Some very friendly whistles have helped Stanford put Plum and Osahor in foul trouble. Both on the court playing with 4 fouls.
