Sunday's games

Temple missed 3 three pointers at the end to tie the game. Good looks too

Temple kept fighting to lose by 4.

Even though they're the "ranked" team, USF probably needed this win for its resume more than Temple did. Prior to this, USF's best win was over Tulane. Temple has the big win over DePaul.

It's a dissonant sensation to hear Mowins and Antonelli calling a Pac-12 game (Oregon at Oregon St).

Odd quirk in the conference scheduling - Oregon & Oregon State playing home-and-home back-to-back, in 3 days. Are they going to have an aggregate winner, a la soccer? ;)

All of the Pac-12 schools were scheduled to play their "travel partner" (i.e. nearby rival) in back-to-back games. The lone exception is the Washington schools, which agreed to squeeze in one of their two games just after Christmas to avoid the back-to-back thing.

Acc craziness

... and Syracuse up big on VaTech at Blacksburg.

Oregon and Oregon St are tied at 44 after 3Q.

Whoa. Oregon gets hot to start the 4th quarter, now up 51-45 and forces Rueck to take a timeout.

Ionescu has 18 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 0 turnovers.

The Oregon v Oregon State game might be the changing of the guards game. UO is going to be a very good team and OSU loses their best player over the past 4 years. OSU will still be a solid team, as Rueck teaches them how to play the game.

It may also signal a changing of the guard for the PAC-12's top POY candidate - Sabrina Ionescu proving to be the real deal as a freshman, as Kelsey Plum completes her stellar senior season and college career at UDub.

That doesn't really surprise me. Always felt that VT was overly rewarded for going undefeated against a weak schedule.

I would assume that Rueck is going to start landing better recruits given the recent success?

Is anyone else surprised at how these top-ranked ACC teams are barely disposing of mediocre teams?

Bodes ill for their tournament chances.

Huh?! But they beat Tennessee!

Agreed; not a surprise. VaTech is better than most expected, but still not that good.

Upset alert. UNC goes up by 16 on NC State in the 3rd quarter.

I guess UNC plays better in pink uniforms.

I figured their schedule would catch up with them, and that they would eventually end up around 7th or 8th in the conference. Next 4 games... ND, @ Pesky Jackets, Louisville, and @ State.

Well NC State is their most hated rival.... so they are gonna play them tough.... at least in front of their home crowd.

You mean they hate NC State more than Duke?

Mississippi State up 15 on Texas A&M in 3Q. Schaefer battling his former boss.

Sue Bird doing color analysis for the SEC Network? Seems kinda weird.

Rueck is indeed a great coach, but Graves (Oregon) is no slouch as he showed during his time at Gonzaga, and Oregon is starting 3 freshmen and has 5 in the top 7. Both games were very close, and in the end OSU's experience + Wiese were the difference. However, next year I expect the Ducks to be the stronger team.

Texas getting all they can handle from WVU, as I suspected they would. WVU has really improved as the season has progressed.

Huge improvement. Gave Baylor a mighty tussle in Waco, doing the same in Austin today. This 4th quarter is gonna be good.

If WVU's nonconference SOS wasn't so abysmal (#302!), I think they'd have a shot at a top-16 seed.

Does anyone really think UV scores 74 against FSU or Baylor? Or any of the other top 10 teams?

I can see UVA scoring 74 on FSU in Charlottesville..... they get their chance in a few weeks. They put up 81 on Louisville.
