Tom Collen got his team settled down somewhat but Arkansas has no one that can stop Glory Johnson, who is playing well. Way too much dribbling by the Ark. guards and the Razorbacks as a team are very impatient on offense. Tenn is having its way, up 18-3 with about 12 minuteas left in the first half.

The announcers for Louisville-SJU are Anne Marie Anderson and Katje Christianson (sp?). They're very good. They don't go crazy raving over every shot and aren't afraid to point out areas where the teams need to improve. ESPN should promote these women and get rid of the deadwood.

Or get CBS to hire them. No more Criqui and Murphy please!

totally agree. for all the hoopla for the freshmen guards last year, i really thought she was the best freshman in the nation. IIRC she quietly had better stats than any of them and she plays in the post without the ball in her hands. now don't get me wrong - i'd never trade Bria for any of them even if that were possible, but my point is Thomas had a really great season and seems to be picking up where she left off this year. one of the top kids in her class...

I agree with Eric. I think Thomas had at least as much an impact as an frosh as anyone, including Bria, Odyssey, and Chiney. She is already one of the best players in the ACC, perhaps the best.

Sara has been a complete non-factor, slow to get her sea legs. Bria Smith has been great, though this game has been a bit choppy for her. She has fouled out or the second consecutive game, prior to that maybe one or two fouls a game. So this fouling thing is new for her. She is going to be fabulous. Working on her jumper, but for now, her job is to defend and dribble drive.
Shoni had an off game. Becky Burke has been putting up very solid numbers.
Though, we have yet to figure out how to play without Tia and now Mo. Tia was the obvious leader on the court.

We went from the looks of a very promising season to a potentially very long, difficult season. Needing some kids to step up, and so far, they are having a hard time of it.

St. Johns is getting back to healthy. They are going to be highly competitive this year. We should not have lost, no doubt. That being said, they are flying under the radar right now as they are finding their groove with a healthy roster.

Shoni had an off game. Becky Burke has been putting up very solid numbers.

I actually thought Shoni looked fine. It was just that SJU was able to key on her because once they stopped Bria Smith's drives to the basket no one else was really scoring, except for the occasional three by Becky Burke. Both Smith and Burke need to expand their games with a pull up jumper or at least drive and dish but the way they were playing, SJU was able to adjust defensively and swarm Shoni.
