Sunday (3/24) games: NCAA 2nd round

Iowa's sleeping giant is now fully awake, Cunningham gets foul 3 w/2 min left in Q2. Iowa up 5

With 3 close games, I kinda like the wraparound this afternoon.

No wrap around for me. They started w/ South Carolina-Florida St., but went to the Missouri-Iowa game and have stuck with it. Fairly entertaining so far.

Yeah me too but conversely ESPN has bad decisions refined to a fine art. Put the blow out game (Which was predictable) on by iteself and then put on 3 potentially close games at the same time. And then have a 3 hour drought before the next pair of games. Amazing.

And just to keep my rants together Wilson is a fantastic ballplayer and seems to be a nice person. But ESPN puts hot current personalities ahead of capability. She may also be a good broadcaster someday but do you really have to break her in during the NCAA Tournament?

Any neutral observers watching the USCe FSU game?
I’m watching. I have no rooting interest, either

Now that I live in Florida, I get to see all the games with Florida teams

It’s 45-42 So Carolina half way through the 3rd quarter

Marquette goes on a run early in 3Q, takes a 9-point lead over A&M. King, Hiedeman and Lott are playing very well.

Marquette looked completely moribund for 3-1/2 quarters vs. Rice. They have suddenly come to life.

Nice little feature during halftime w/ Megan Gustafson giving a quick tour of Port Wing, Wisconsin, her home town. I grew up in a very small town, so I can identify with a place like that.

So Carolina has coughed up a 9 point lead, now is up by one and it’s offense looks stagnant. Everyone just stopped moving

Oh wow. I saw you were mentioning being in Florida but I thought it was a vacation. Did you move down for work? At any rate best of luck in the sunshine state! LOTS of basketball and other sports going on down there!

My oldest son now lives in Michigan and my youngest is about to graduate and is planning to live in North Carolina. Our house is now too big and we’re paying a lot in taxes to shovel snow and live in cold, grey weather. Easy decision

Switched to A&M-Marquette at the beginning of 3Q, when it was close. Kind of a duel between Chennedy Carter and Natisha Hiedeman, with Marquette currently making space, and oops the feed froze .... Comcast reloading.

Usually basketball is a game of runs, this FSU-So Carolina game has runs of offensive ineptitude

USCe now up50-46

Iowa / Missouri has a roller derby feel. Last team standing literally.

USCe up 52-51 at the end of the 3rd quarter. This one could go down to the wire

Teams are pretty darned evenly matched. A few runs back and forth but neither team has led by more than 5 or 7 I think?

That was a really bad call on that offensive foul against Iowa. The player was in the air and almost landed when the defender moved into her path. Not even remotely close to having established position. Really blew that one.

After a TO, So Carolina came out and just stood in place while Cuevas-Moore tried to fine someone to pass to. Shot clock violation.

Still 52-51 after 2 minutes

Sophie ineffective. Only Amber Smith looks dangerous for Missouri, 47-41 Iowa after 3

This is gonna be tough to choose. Both of the 4/5 games look like they going to end about the same time.

They've been face guarding her a lot. Very smart choice. Other offensive options are limited.

Both teams are playing horrible. FSU players scared to shoot, don't even look at the rim to shoot jump shots. SC can sit in a zone the rest of the game and dare them to shoot.

I gues C. Carter's thumb injury isn't bothering her too much!

I see the FSU fan that brought me a cookie and a scone at the ACC tournament in the stands. Her and her husband are diehard Nole fans... always great to see that.
