At the half Sun winning on the boards with JJ getting almost as many boards as the Mystics team. Solid dub-dub for JJ at the half.

It's rare to see a team perform so night and day differently due to the absence or presence of one player. Even LeBron's presence does not impact his teams as dramatically as Delle Donne's does for the Mystics.

Mystics coming back and close to 73-69 after 3Q. JJ on bench with 4 fouls.

Hah. Indeed. It's almost like:
Me: No one impacts this game as much as Delle Donne.
JJ: Hold my beer.

Yes JJ has been amazing but was just baited into committing her 5th foul with 5+ minutes left.

Has there ever been more than 5 players from the same college program in a single WNBA finals?

Five players from Maryland:
Kristi Toliver (Mystics)
Alyssa Thomas (Sun)
Tianna Hawkins (Mystics)
Brionna Jones (Sun)
Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (Mystics)

Almost all of Maryland’s all time greats. Who is the best Maryland women’s player ever? Toliver, Thomas, Langhorne, Coleman, or...someone else?

The very definition of MVP.

And the Mystics' dismal record without EDD gets even dismaller: 1-5, with the only win coming against the lowly Dream.

EDD is the focus of attention not for her basketball performance? Well I am just SHOCKED. SHOCKED I tell you.

Final thoughts before I try to sleep... AT and Courtney...
AT so tough, so driven. Inspirational performances. Only 4 min on the bench in 5 games.
Courtney so electric, so willing and able to take the big shot. Has any player's star risen more during the playoffs? uhhh.... no.

EDD has to the most fragile star player I've seen, always seems like she has untimely illness/injury. Hope her back is feeling better soon. Mystics need her if they're going to win this.

Langhorne/Toliver/Coleman (you can make a case for any of them for 2nd)

Brionna Jones
SWK
Laura Harper
Shay Doron
Laurin Mincy

Not a great list compared to UConn but I'll take what we can get.

Charles has a chance to be 5th if she can lead the Terps to the Final 4 where all the above players have been. In fact Charles hasn't been to an Elite 8.

I am praying EDD comes back and plays at (or near) her potential. To have her legacy tainted this way where injury/illness is what everyone associates her with is unimaginably sad to me.

Ain’t gonna happen. In order for the Sun to win it all, they must win one in Washington. The Mystics hold serve at home. They only lost 3 times all season.

You were saying? ;)

Tianna Hawkins and Lynetta Kizer should get a shoutout if those others get a mention.

In the future... potential #1 pick Shakira Austin.

I thought so as well along with Alicia DeVaughn and had Lexie Brown stayed she would be up there

Natasha Cloud spent a year at Maryland.
Kiara Leslie spent two years.
Destiny Slocum spent a year.
Maryland all over the place.

Two years for Lexie Brown, too.

A herniated disc a byproduct of a layup? Ouch? I live with severe muscle spasms and ain't going to be easy for Delle Donne to play 100% for the last 3 games.

This is Connecticut's first chance at a world championship in a pro sport.

Interesting to see how much the NBA and it's players support the W.

Thibault has been saying she has had issues for a month or so but was able to manage it with treatment so I am guessing this is an under the radar long term issue
