Does anyone know if she can shoot the three ball? That would be impressive. If she was a Rebecca Lobo type.

That makes me smile. Now if Jefferson also hits the three, combined with KML and Bria next year. I am liking what I am thinking. Of course Caroline also is pretty good....

MoJeff is well above 40% from behind the arc in high school.

Morgan can hit the 3

Bre can hit the 3. She does it all.

Over the first 8-10 games, MoJeff shot 46-48% from the arc.

Bre will be one of the Greatest Players in WCBB ever. Shes unstoppable and with the talent surrounding her, well it will be silly good. UConn in 2 years will be very difficult to turn over, because one or two passes and a score. Can you imagine Moriah and Saniya. Now thats un-be-liev- able

I have seen her in person three times over the last 2 years and she has made noticeable improvement in her three-ball
...really nice motion...smooth and nice arc. She will be able to shoot over guards and if the bigs come after her, she has the necessary handle to go by them.

I believe Geno has described her and an very athletic Rebecca. (like off the charts athletic)

My favorite comparison is Kevin Garnett. He is all energy and intensity. As well as the long arms.

But how much will Geno let her shoot the three?

if she has the ability and range to shoot the three why would he say no? He allowed Schuey and Jones to shoot the three. Also it will spread out the defense. Makes sense. Have her at the top of the key and have Dolson and Stokes in near the basket. You defend Dolson and Stokes and then leave Stewart wide open, or you rush out to defend Stewart and lag defense on Dolson and Stokes. Either way... I see points!!!

I don't want to rush time, but I do look forward to next year with great anticipation. :)

I am waiting for Stef to take one step back and start hitting threes. She is very capable of doing that.

she was forced to take one against Rutgers, and it very nearly went in.

Yup, I remember that. That's why I want to see it more often. It will give other teams fits. Consider what it might mean against Baylor and Griner if Griner had to go that far out for Stef and the possibilities for back screening Griner to keep her off cutters.

Why would you say that?

Because of the excellent % she shoots from one step inside the 3Pt line and having seen her shoot a couple in warm-ups.

I haven't seen Geno tell a good 3 point shooter not to shoot 3's.
Charde shot over 40% from the arc in high school but took virtually none from there at UConn.

But you've never seen her shoot an excellent % from behind the arc, in a game. Not saying she can't, but I don't believe you have any reason to believe she can....other than conjecture. Hopeful conjecture.

Hartley's last-second shot vs. St. John's (at Gampel) "nearly went in." It didn't count. They never do.

Not so much. Bria's shot clanked off the near side iron. Stef's was in and out- in other words, it barely missed.

If we are relying on Stef to shoot threes in lieu of our guards, it's a problem, but to Icebear's point, it is evident she can shoot them.

I wouldn't qualify Charde as a good shooter. High school 3-point shooting percentages don't translate quite as well as people might think.

That's true of everyone who has never taken a particular shot in a game. The only evidence anyone has until that moment is performance in practice and near similar shots both of which are in Stef's favor.
