Longest leash in UConn history. I love the guy and everything he's helped UConn accomplish but sometimes it blows my mind he's out there.Probably could have used a healthy Stew since AK didn't seem to have much interest in playing hoops today. But then again he probably would have still played 38 minutes...
Do you mean back this year or forever?Stew should have been starting most of this season (in place of Ball with Mullins playing SG). He’s been mis-used by Hurley and playing limited minutes. Doubt he’s in a rush to get back.
let’s hope this is not true but the vibes have not been positive for the last month or so based on certain tweets…hope I’m wrong and he’s suiting up ThursdayDoubt he’s in a rush to get back.
Where did you hear thisHeard a rumor of minor surgery for Stew and out for 3 weeks. Did anyone else hear this?
I was told by someone after one of the recent games that Jaylin has a bone chip floating in his knee.Heard a rumor of minor surgery for Stew and out for 3 weeks. Did anyone else hear this?
Ooof very bad news if trueA UConn post on FB. A lady who posted (supposedly) a pic of her and Braylon on the plane who said it’s true, she’s with the team. Doesn’t mean it’s legit but that’s why I asked. This is what she said with pic:

He is a better defender then he is given credit. Pelham and Gold shot 70% combined and he is pretty good at boxing out and bodying up making for tougher shots. They make 3 less shots all game we win.We win that game if Stewart was healthy? His absence wasn't the problem.
Does this sound like love? Man, thank god Hurley doesn’t throw his players under the bus the way some UConn “loyalists” do. There is a reason why Hurley and the staff can retain a core vs more NIL elsewhere. Loyalty. A bad game or bad week won’t derail what a larger sample set suggests.Longest leash in UConn history. I love the guy and everything he's helped UConn accomplish but sometimes it blows my mind he's out there.
Hurley literally treats him like Kemba Walker. It’s his fault for putting him on too much of a pedestal to put him in these positions to fail like this and not hold him accountable for doing it.Longest leash in UConn history. What does your reply have to do with AK having a ridiculously long leash?Does this sound like love? Man, thank god Hurley doesn’t throw his players under the bus the way some UConn “loyalists” do. We should have won that game even without him, but yes I think we do if we had him. In a game where Mullins, Ball, and Karaban were providing nothing even a few minutes in place of them and a single made shot could have changed what was essentially a 2 point lossWe win that game if Stewart was healthy? His absence wasn't the problem.
All of that is true what you said, but that last statement, oof. Sure he would've helped vs Marquette, but that's not good if Stewart is the difference between winning and losing vs Marquette.Stewart is missed as he blocks out well, alters some shots and can make a bucket or three. Nominally his work does not show on box scores as hustle, good screens, bodying up a defender well are not tracked.
Ross has more demonstrative stats like blocks and dunks but he is playing the Samson role of pogo stick lately on D jumping to the loge level on a fake.
Needed Stewart vs Marquette so hope he’s ready for BET but if not for round of 32

You do realize we were down 13 with 5 minutes to go.We should have won that game even without him, but yes I think we do if we had him. I did not realize thinking we should beat Marquette was a controversial opinion. You called it the worst loss in UConn history and I'm crazy to say that's a game UConn should win?You do realize we were down 13 with 5 minutes to go.
You're positioning this like we should have won. SMH. It's not like we were playing from a big lead and blew it, we were chasing all game.
Stew being key is hysterical, most of the board was talking about how bad he's been lately and squeezing the rotation. Stew has not been good but maybe this injury was playing a part. Key here is that the starters needed to play better not Stew.
Regular season - I can't think of many worse, other than some obscure early season losses to bad teams in early non con in throw away years.I did not realize thinking we should beat Marquette was a controversial opinion. I also didn't say anything about Stewart being key. But in a game where we were down by 2 points and we got 2 points in 40 minutes from Alex Karaban at the 4 spot that a few of those minutes going to Stewart could have made a difference
This season alone the Creighton loss was worse. People get hung up on their record but for the past month plus Marquette has been one of the best defenses in the country and about the same level as Villanova overall.Regular season - I can't think of many worse, other than some obscure early season losses to bad teams in early non con in throw away years.
This was a team ranked preseason top 5 losing the BE and a 1 seed in the last game of the year against the worst team in the BE, in a game more than anything, they needed to show they can bring their A game when it was a must to kick some momentum in.
Can you think of a worst reg season loss?
Bad read on my part if you were suggesting we were supposed to in, versus how the game played out. I'd still say this game was more about Karaban actually playing well then needing Stew. Stew has rarely been the savior this year.
Creighton was bad, but it didn't have the urgency behind it and I can excuse a singular WTF loss out of no where. The Marquette game was urgent, for us (not them) with a ton on the line and now way to make up for it. Hard to compare. I get your view on the fact they're playing well, and have a really good young core. James may roll into next year as preseason first team. This season alone the Creighton loss was worse. Which doesn't excuse the complete no show from 75% of the team and coaching staff or take away the disappointment from not winning the Big East regular season title. But I don't think it approaches the late KO years where we were losing to low majors and losing by 30 to South Cental Oklahoma Community College in the AAC at 11PM on a Wednesday
