according to Borges,

The Huskies could be without Jaylin Stewart for a third straight game. Hurley said on Saturday that the junior wing, who's dealing with a knee injury, might be ready to go on Saturday. He was seen on crutches after practice on Thursday, however.

That sucks. We could definitely use him, but it's even worse that he may not get to play in the postseason after going through the grind of the season.

Wow that kinda sucks. Thought he was a go for tomorrow night and now maybe not the BET

That is what I am thinking, too, if he is on crutches. Best case scenario, it would seem, is Jaylin plays in the 1st round game of the NCAAT.

Ross to the rescue.

Hope Stewart is a go for the BET and the NCAA Tournament. I wonder how long he's had this injury. They said last week it was just knee soreness. If he's had this issue longer it might explain why he's not been great the past few weeks.

Hope Stew gets better. He has shown during BET and NCAA the moment isn't too big for him.

OTOH.........

The 8-man rotation with Ross, Smith amd Riebe off the bench has solidified rotations and substitution patterns.

If his status is "could be ready", I say give him another game off against 11-19 Marquette so he is better off for the BET.

I'll never forget when a likely national championship was derailed by Jerome Dyson's torn meniscus. Was there ever a more impactful UConn injury than that?

It turned out a freshman Ricky Moore turning his ankle late in the game against Colgate and Adonal Foyle hurt us significantly. If he was healthy for Miss St he would’ve kept one of the 2 guards who had career games from killing us. Probably not quite as impactful as Jerome that year, but another one to remember.

That team was good but don’t think they were beating UNC even with Dyson that year. That UNC team was a buzzsaw. But to your point, one of the more significant injuries uconn has seen

That was his existing shoulder injury getting re-aggravated. That was the year Ricky Moore nearly single handedly brought UConn back against Georgetown in the BET finals. Was probably a bigger deal than most people realized

Shoulder yes, thank you!!!

All caused by a bad pass from Rudy Johnson, an inbound pass offline that Ricky had to reach for an got his shoulder slammed. I remember it well and saying to myself wtf Rudy.

The only player to ever lock up Allen iverson. What a game by Ricky. The pinnacle of the big east.

Stew should have been starting most of this season (in place of Ball with Mullins playing SG). He’s been mis-used by Hurley and playing limited minutes. Doubt he’s in a rush to get back.

Do you mean back this year or forever?
