RE: Stewie's dribbling

She is picking her spots well of late. When the offense clears people out of the area behind Breanna's defender, Bre show little hesitation driving baseline as she should every time from the wing. She just has to get by one player. When she does drive the middle, she shows better decision making by pulling up for a short J. Her troubles -- especially against top competition -- are when she drives middle into traffic and takes too many dribbles. Turnovers can and do happen in that situation. If there is good spacing like last night it sometimes works out but if its packed then its not a good play. After all she is 6'4" and even a great ball handler (which she isn't yet as a freshman) is going to turn it over against smaller quicker players.

ND will be a tougher out for sure, but if Bre can do half of what she did last night, we should advance. (Yes I'm assuming an Irish victory. Too much moxie on that squad to lose to Duke.)

UConn is playing with alot of confidence and that is the most important thing. Uconn is playing at a different level then they were a couple of weeks ago. The team is playing with confidence and are almost 100% healthly except for Stef. With that said, weve had a bunch of players stepping it up which has given us more balance on both sides of the ball.

MoJeff playing the point has given us the point guard weve been looking for all season. She can handle the press, score some points and turn the game around with her defense. She allows anyone playing the other guard position to not have to worry about bringing the ball up. Stewie is playing like a monster. Very relaxed and confident. She is our means to the end of this season. As I mentioned in another thread. She is like EDD on offense and Maya on defense and she does it at 6'4 with a 7'1 wing span. Both MoJeff and Stewie have changed Uconns defense. Morgan can score from anything and is most effective underneath. This alone is going to hurt teams like ND and Duke which ever we face. Remeber we lost the BE finals to ND and it was Stewie who lead our comeback. If we meet again the outcome will be UConns. I predict UConn by double digets and Stef wont be in foul trouble.... because of her injury. This team is more explosive then its been all season and continues to improve and gain more confidence each game. Im sure they cant wait to get to New Orleans to show their stuff. The only way this team can lose is if they get in deep foul trouble, or have to many injuries.

Saniya is going to astound people. Watching her play she has it all. Like Bre she will need to get stronger. Her unorthodox style may bother some, but how can you not appreciate a player who can shoot the three, drive to the basket amd pull up for a two, take it all the way to the rim, see the court the way few people see it, make passes that are difficult to believe, play tough D, make steals, rebound the ball and block shots. Did I leave anything out? Oh yeah, she's humble, a terrific teammate and person, and the other team's players ask for Saniya's autograph after being whipped up on by Ossining.

But by the time Geno gets hold of her she will be the worst college guard in the country. :)
