Ive got a great feeling that as long as Stef is healthly ND is gonna be stunned. We now have a terrific point guard in MoJeff. Im looking for MoJeff to pick Diggins pocket a few times. Breanna is the new EDD of WCBB. Couple her with KML Stef and we have some terrific scorers. Did I forget Tuck and Hartley too. This is a different UConn team playing with alot of confidence. What Uconn did in the Regionals to two very good teams in MD and UK was complete devastation. It will continue. Foul trouble will still be the issue. We must stay out of foul trouble. However Kiah has shown she is playing at a different level and Kelly is shooting the ball great. I think we beat ND by double digets. This UConn team will not collapse.

Two things Im waiting to see. Diggins getting her pocket picked by MoJeff and Breanna blocking McBrides shot..a couple of times. The intimadation is back. Get ready because we just might be facing Tenn. ESPNS dream matchup...and mine too.

Tony,
Would you put Breanna on McBride? SOMEBODY has to reign her in for us to win and I think Stewie might really intimidate her. I think Moriah is too quick for Diggins to guard if she takes it to the hole. To me the big thing is Stef & foul trouble. I have no doubt Geno has told her repeatedly NOT to get in foul trouble against ND. Here's hoping she & Bria listen. I'm SO proud of our team. They were getting banged around and really pestered last night and Moriah decided to out quick them. I know Saniya had a rough final game here in Albany, but the thought of her and Mo Jo with Banks next year ....

From an emotional point of view, I remember posting last year that someone special(Breanna) was coming and to enjoy every minute she's here. Those of us who saw her here in the NY tournament last year KNEW how special she is, and to see her now SO intimidating when it matters most...... And if I might, if you're out there, EDD, we're proud of you too! We all have to travel the road we think best, and you've been awesome. Hope to see you play at the Garden next year!

Breanna is in a nice groove out there now. She's becoming a singular talent within the team concept. That's not easy to do (see Anthony, Carmelo). She's just ballin', not forcing anything. A nice balance of letting the game come to her and taking what she is being given. The play that really opened my eyes that may have seemed like nothing on the tube came in the Vandy game. She was driving in on a break and comes to a jump stop, then goes back up sideways away from the hoop to avoid contact and smoothly makes the lay-up. You don't see that in the women's game very often. Either the player keeps going forward for the charge or the shot is a brick. I think this team is peaking at the right time.

Check out Breanna in the background of Holly Rowe's interview with Kelly. (About the 2:10 mark.)

She and CD the Elder find each other and Breanna lifts CD right off her feet.

I don't care how much we beat ND by, as long as we beat them.

RE: Stewie's dribbling

She is picking her spots well of late. When the offense clears people out of the area behind Breanna's defender, Bre show little hesitation driving baseline as she should every time from the wing. She just has to get by one player. When she does drive the middle, she shows better decision making by pulling up for a short J. Her troubles -- especially against top competition -- are when she drives middle into traffic and takes too many dribbles. Turnovers can and do happen in that situation. If there is good spacing like last night it sometimes works out but if its packed then its not a good play. After all she is 6'4" and even a great ball handler (which she isn't yet as a freshman) is going to turn it over against smaller quicker players.

ND will be a tougher out for sure, but if Bre can do half of what she did last night, we should advance. (Yes I'm assuming an Irish victory. Too much moxie on that squad to lose to Duke.)

UConn is playing with alot of confidence and that is the most important thing. Uconn is playing at a different level then they were a couple of weeks ago. The team is playing with confidence and are almost 100% healthly except for Stef. With that said, weve had a bunch of players stepping it up which has given us more balance on both sides of the ball.

MoJeff playing the point has given us the point guard weve been looking for all season. She can handle the press, score some points and turn the game around with her defense. She allows anyone playing the other guard position to not have to worry about bringing the ball up. Stewie is playing like a monster. Very relaxed and confident. She is our means to the end of this season. As I mentioned in another thread. She is like EDD on offense and Maya on defense and she does it at 6'4 with a 7'1 wing span. Both MoJeff and Stewie have changed Uconns defense. Morgan can score from anything and is most effective underneath. This alone is going to hurt teams like ND and Duke which ever we face. Remeber we lost the BE finals to ND and it was Stewie who lead our comeback. If we meet again the outcome will be UConns. I predict UConn by double digets and Stef wont be in foul trouble.... because of her injury. This team is more explosive then its been all season and continues to improve and gain more confidence each game. Im sure they cant wait to get to New Orleans to show their stuff. The only way this team can lose is if they get in deep foul trouble, or have to many injuries.

Saniya is going to astound people. Watching her play she has it all. Like Bre she will need to get stronger. Her unorthodox style may bother some, but how can you not appreciate a player who can shoot the three, drive to the basket amd pull up for a two, take it all the way to the rim, see the court the way few people see it, make passes that are difficult to believe, play tough D, make steals, rebound the ball and block shots. Did I leave anything out? Oh yeah, she's humble, a terrific teammate and person, and the other team's players ask for Saniya's autograph after being whipped up on by Ossining.

But by the time Geno gets hold of her she will be the worst college guard in the country. :)
