Tennessee is celebrating its newly acquired top-10 status by welcoming 1-6 Stetson to Knoxville ... and promptly going down 27-15 early in the second quarter.

The mighty Hatters. I turn on the game and I'm immediately impressed by how well coached the Hatters are. They're undersized, but execute at both ends. Plus UT has 10 TO's in the half.

Stetson plays a variation on the Princeton offense. Lots of movement, good unselfish passing. Well coached.

Stetson handled the full court press so well UT has stopped using it. 3:42 left in the half, Stetson has doubled up UT 34-17. Holly's teams don't, well can't, change. They press and hope for transition offense. When forced to play in the half court they resort to dump it in brute ball or isolation, 1 on 1 ball. Easy to plan your defensive schemes for. It doesn't matter how many top 20 recruits Holly gets, as Woody Allen said, "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach, teach gym." Holly would be a good gym teacher. 38-22 at the half, UT outscored 15-7 in the 2nd quarter.

Holy cow. Stetson is 0-6 against D-I teams, including losses to Tulsa, Marist, Wright State and Hofstra. When they played UCF at home, they trailed 29-9 after 1Q.

If you took the names off the jerseys, you'd never guess their was that much of a talent disparity between the players.

Stetson 1-6

Wow. 13 TO's at half.

Right after their "best" win of the season at Oklahoma State (though admittedly the baseline was low), now this.

The seats in Thompson-Boling are emptier than I think I've ever seen them, btw.

UT making a come back. Press is giving Stetson trouble, not making shots and making turnovers. UT 9-0 run

I've just watched the 2nd half thinking - How was this lousy team up by 20 on TENN at any point? They can't do anything. TENN must have been at an all time low energy sleepwalk to allow that to happen.

When is the last time UConn trailed by 20 points in a game?
I'm gonna guess a decade.

And by 20 points to an unranked team? Probably 25 years.

Although UT is catching up and will probably win this one this team has shown time and again, as usual per Holly, that they can't handle option offenses. Play with pace in the offensive end, spread the defense out at the perimeter, cut hard, keep the ball moving and you'll get an open shot close to the rim.

On the Muffet Tweets thread, I post the last 4 years of WCBB attendance and Tenn has been hemorrhaging fans, they still draw well but from high 10,500 to mid 8,800 in the last 3 years.

cant watch any more. Stetson completely falling apart. UT has taken the lead, largely because of Stetson mistakes, lazy passes, etc.

Tennessee has stormed back to take the lead in 3Q. And the crowd goes wild! Lady Vols, y'all...

Hey, all tied 44-44 at the end of 3.
