Stanford vs. South Carolina Game Thread

Well, I can't say that I'm impressed with either team's offense so far

Oregon wanted to dictate tempo too - look where that got them..
Yeah but Oregon doesn't have Tara as their coach. Tara is the same age as Geno and started at Stanford in 1985 - same year as Geno started at UConn - and she's already at 1010+ wins. Remember when Stanford led us 20-12 at half time in the title game several years back? That's what they do to you. Except this year we don't have Maya, or a player near her caliber, to save the day. I think we have better talent than Stanford. It's just weird things happen when we play them which is why I would like to avoid them. Tara may be the best tactician in the game.

Tara's wins include 2 prior HC stints at other schools prior to Stanford

We got plenty of shots in the first half of that Stanford NC game, if I remember correctly, it was just that nothing would go through the hoop.

I see the score is only 17-14 early in the 2nd quarter.

I hope this is because both teams suck, rather than because both teams are playing suffocating D.

Man. South Carolina is going to make it ugly...as always. That one shot and done? Come on, now.

Typical SEC offense in other words challenged on the offensive end

We'll see what adjustments Dawn makes because South Carolina is flummoxed right now by Stanford's defense.

This game is favoring the Cardinal midway thru the 2nd quarter!

Lots of air balls. Not a pretty offensive game, to say the least.

Just got in, turned on the set and I notice SC still has a championship level defense and a D2 level offense. If they could just move the ball effectively side to side they'd actually make a few of those 10 straight misses.

15 points in 15+ minutes of basketball isn't underwhelming to you?

I dont see what your comment about being a #1 seed had to do with anything.

How soon everyone forgets UConn's 12 point 1st half.

Given that we'd like to play the winner of this game, I'd say this is going swimmingly so far.

Neither team is lighting it up from the outside. No individual looks unstoppable.

I don't think Stanford's D even looks that great. SC is just not making shots and not even making plays.

"Rims are new so they might be a little tight"
"Geno Auriemma complained that the floor is new and a little sticky causing players to come up short"
WTF are they doing??

Its amazing the number of people I recognize from the Boneyard who sat in Tony C's ticket section from Bridgeport.
