No, he won't make any "crazy ones". The quick release off the screen in the corner from the line is not "crazy". The ones from 28-30 feet are crazy and he does not make them. At all.
He of course has made some deep ones as has AK but they miss a lot more of them than they make.

I actually looked at three point shooting at Gampel vs. XL the last two seasons and it’s almost identical for the Huskies. I feel like Gampels rims are tighter too but the stats didn’t show it.
Soft / tight rims don't make that much difference. The rims would be a factor on any given shot, but the effect overall will even out. Some will go in because of the rim, some will not go in because of that same rim. It's like that three by Karaban against Illinois in 2024. Hits the front of the tight rim, bounces up and off the backboard and in. On a soft rim, it doesn't bounce like that and doesn't go in.

I have 1 small issue with last night's game, and it applies to other games. I just don't care for Braylon taking 3 pointers from 5 feet beyond the arc. They just don't go in very frequently and there must be a better shot available. Alex has earned a few feet behind the arc, but Braylon has not. The 3s Brayloin did hit were much closer to the line and that's where I'd prefer he take them, at this point.
Outside of that, fantastic outcome and well played by everyone. It seems that the more invested Tarris is, the better the team plays.
Much like Karaban's quick opening shot in the second half. Mystifying

Best video on the internet.
It was even better being there live in person to see it all. It's a 5-point halftime lead and then you look up at the jumbotron and see a lead the size of the Grand Canyon. I will never forget it. It's right up there watching the UConn players running to the middle of the floor after Langdon slipped and UConn won their first title in their first trip to the Final Four's program.

The StJ showing last night makes me really question their chances in March. I don't feel like Pitino has a really strong grasp on them - also feel like he goes overboard in how he handles those kind of games and loses them as white noise, similar to last years game against Arkansas. I got a lot of the same feelings as that one - like some of these kids mentally check out when the chips are down because of how Pitino handles the situation.

I was weird body language quick. Also, a kid like Darling is ballsy, but that backcourt feels like it has zero IQ.
Indeed. I saw someone on Twitter saying they'll "bounce right back" and I'm like, I don't know. That team is coached by the same guy that benched the Big East POY against Arkansas when they were down 2 with 5 minutes to go. I feel like there's a decent chance they fall apart after that.

He eventually will. I get what you’re saying the quick corner look off a screen isn’t wild, that’s a rhythm shot within the offense. But let’s not act like he’s incapable from deep either. He may not live at 28–30 feet, but to say he never makes them feels a bit absolute. He’ll take one if the moment calls for it and sometimes those are the ones that flip the momentum.

Pitino sets an interesting tempo. How many of these kids are just like, got my money I don't feel like dealing with this "sh#t". This is the danger of deep pocket strategy. Kentucky is seeing it.

Let's how May's team does in the Dance. They have an interesting quality to them as well as basically an all portal team. They turn it on when they need to (Vegas), but then wind down at times. They're lead by a goofey bird in Yaxel. Kinda why I like AZ/Duke a bit more in the tourney.

And I'm with you - having your best player & BPOY check out of a tournament game is odd vibes.

It's why MLB players always have more pride for the team that drafted them.

UConn/portal kids get to rally around a kid like AK, who is a foundational product of the program.

DC against Northwestern in the second round, 2024: 14 points, 14 rebounds, 8 blocks (this was a severe undercount, should have been at least 10), 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 pf. 5/7 shooting, 4/4 from the line. And then his game against Illinois was arguably even better. 22/10/3stl/5blk
Best game of Cling Kong's career, with context, is against Illinois in the elite 8 - 22 pts, 10 reb, 5 blk, 3 stl and they probably undercounted blocks in that game too

LOL!!! Jim Calhoun's UConn team did the exact same thing to a Rick Pitino Louisville team in 2009. Didn't beat them by 30, it was only 17. But that was on Louisville's home floor when they were ranked #5 at the time. And UConn shot 0-8 from three.

FTR, the Creighton loss was on a day when both teams played the exact same time, without one of the games on an over the airwaves broadcasting feed. Bad mojo.
There was something in the water that night, too. When I got around to watching the women's game from that night a couple days later it had to be one of their weakest games of the year. They can have a bit of WTF moments to start some games, but in this one, they were only up 6 with a minute to go in the third and I was still WTF-ing before they started to pull away. Granted, Nova is the second best team in the conference, but in women's basketball, that's not saying a lot. But this is a team on an undefeated championship trajectory, so it was still kinda shocking to watch. I guess it's always Friday the 13th somewhere

What about UConn?
Don't you get the feeling that if it was any other team who waxed a Top 20 opponent like that it would be love all over again? I mean, wasn't it when Michigan trucked Gonzaga when his heart first started to flutter?

He's a fickle flower who serves a purpose. He just doesn't know what it is.

Your purpose speaking jibberish and drooling on a keyboard?
Spurring you on toward your furthest star, though, to be honest I wear a bib and tap on a telephone. That you don't understand me should serve as a clue. Your excesses are no less insufferable, but others do more than enough to keep you perpetually engaged while I attend to other things.

Btw, LOVED the out-in-the-open back-and-forth between you and @Inyatkin. I did not know something like that was possible between two posters who have each other on Ignore.

"Ignore me.
"I ignore you."
"I ignored you first."
"I ignore you more."
"Well then ignore me."
"Make me."
"Just make believe I don't exist."
"Just stop posting."
"If you did it my way, then all would be well."
"Don't you wish."
"Stop it."
"Stop what?"

It's a "Dancing With the Stars" cage match.

And you call it "jibberish?" You can't even spell it correctly.

PS - Don't ever change.
Start tomorrow.

It wouldn't be a bad thing for you to put me on ignore either yeah know. I could imagine what the "ignore" crew looks like in person.

Yes but his posts are so strange I don't even know where he's coming from half the time. Now he thinks Hurley was slow playing the season until the St. John's game at home the other night.

He has crushed hard on Purdue, Michigan, Arizona, and Duke this season but no UConn.

He's also crushed hard on a lot of individual players but no UConn players.

No chance. I already said you serve a valuable purpose, and complimented with specificity as recently as this afternoon.

Who's going to tell you that the super casual form or "you know" is "ya know," and not "yeah know"?

As a matter of fact, "yeah" is the super casual form of "yes," but I digress.

Given how wildly wrong your imaginings of me have been in the past, I'll just laugh and suggest you have at it.

WoofWoof...
