Karaban - for me the issue isn’t that he’s missing shots. It’s that everything that made him a great player the last few years is out the window. His shot selection is awful, he’s forcing drives when everyone knows he can only go right in a straight line, but even worse he’s making low basketball IQ plays on defense and dumb passes on offense. He also doesn’t seem to be leading this team at this point. I don’t see him getting drafted after this year at this point which is good news for us - hopefully next year we can move him back to a secondary role
Ball - pitino did a great job on him second half but I’m encouraged by him getting to the rim sometimes and esp by his improved defense
Mahaney - stop trying to make him happen
Diarra - he’s a warrior but he’s killing us with turnovers and his lack of scoring/driving. Anyone who watches this year and doesn’t think we need a portal pg in the worst way is a lunatic
Ross - got a lot of cardio in last night. Don’t see the defensive stopper thing and no offense at all
Stewart - ultimate vibes player. Makes a couple shots and has amazing confidence then spaces on defense and disappears. Has happened a few times now
Reed - impressed with his game last night
For the polyannas talking about where kemba’s team was at this point in the season - stop it. Put down the kool aid. This team is closer to the one that lost to New Mexico than the team from the last two years.
Put down the kool-aid is your response to a legitimate comparison?
UConn fans can be really narrow minded - we’ve experienced AT LEAST 3 teams that WON THE TITLE who were having genuine crises in-season. 4 of the 6 is probably correct. Teams that, after certain games, you’d have this EXACT opinion.
No one’s saying this team will be another, they’re just making the obvious and true comparison to past results.
You calling them insulting names does nothing to change that.
