Sparks @ Lynx - 5/20/18

Candace Parker not playing? Missed the explanation.

Minny needs to grab this game—at home with Candace out. It could determine home court advantage at the end of the season.

Chelsea Gray starting where she left off last season. Real tough player. I can see her making the National Team before her career is over.

I watched a little, got bored switched to the Frank Sinatra doc
now back....

It's not compelling like Geno-ball

I questioned Chelsea’s mobility after her injury, but she certainly can pass and shoot. She has a few steals today was well.

I chatted with her on the street at the Final Four in New Orleans. She was very cordial.

Surprised how much court time Karlie got in the first half. Looked kinda lost on defense several times and clunked a few 3 point attempts. For a player that was cut recently she appeared to be ahead of several others in the rotation. Wiese made a cameo w/ less than a minute left in the half.

So...there's no statute of limitations on reviewing plays? They took away a Nneka 3 pointer from about several minutes before halftime.

Agreed. I'm trying to watch it but it's not very interesting so far.

Lynx went up 8 early in the Q3, but now the Sparks are on a 14-0 run. Nneka has 14 points. Whalen and Augustus have been virtual no-shows today.

Bird got a shout out for being the oldest player in the W. One of the announcers incorrectly gave that distinction to Brunson earlier in the broadcast.

This game is not intense. It is the least intense of the games thus far. It feels like an All-Star game. The CT Sun game had the most intensity of any of the games so far.

She played only 7 mins in the first half and was only 0-2. What you mean a few 3 point attempts. You think it is too much?

No, that's mostly what she was known for in college. It's just that both shots looked really bad and weren't remotely close to going in.

She's back in halfway thru Q3.

and now Karlie drilled a 3, much nicer looking stroke that time

I am talking about this game not her past college games. Get real ...

This is her first ever WNBA game and I didn't see any of her games when she was playing overseas, so college is all I have to go on.

Brunson was in the same class as Diana. Sue is 2 years older.

Brunson was the BE FOY, over Diana. She has the most WNBA championships, 1 with Sacramento and 4 with Minnesota.

Other surprises for the conference FOY:

Jewell over Stewie

Sugar over Skylar

Kitija over Lou

In contrast, Maya was the BE FOY and POY. She was the FOW 10x, breaking Rebecca’s record of 7x.

If you don't see too much her games in pre-season and regular season WNBA or oversea then stop your blames on her now.

They always review made close 3pt shots on delay so they don't interfere with the game flow. A very reasonable concession.

Karlie 1-5 behind the arc now I think

I like her, I'm glad she got a chance to play w/ the Sparks. She's having a tough debut, but surprising to me that she's playing more than players like Wiese and Pondexter.

Now 1-6.
