By 3 to San Antonio, as 22 TOs did them in.

Nneka and Jantel both had double-doubles.

L.A., the pre-season pick of the GMs, is now 4-8 and headed toward the Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis sweepstakes.

Cali girl Kaleena would probably be OK with that, too.

Nooooooooo. KML on the same team with CP.
I tend to agree with you - I've never rooted for LA - hate the Lakers, and have never liked the Sparks either. I keep thinking LA will get it together and make a run. I just don't see Seattle or Tulsa as a playoff team yet, but Tulsa has improved in leaps and bounds with the addition of Diggins and Simms.

It will be interesting to see how the west is won this season!

The West will be won by Minnesota or Phoenix, I think. Which 2 miss out on the playoffs: Seattle, San Antonio, Tulsa, Los Angeles? I think Tulsa makes the playoffs. They are playing competitively.

I'm guessing the two who lose out will be the ones who face Minn and/or Phoenix at the end of the season.

How can a team that includes Candace Parker, Nneka Ogwumike, Alana Beard and Lindsey Harding not have a winning record? I left off Kristi Tolliver because she only played 6 of the Sparks 12 games. It can be argued that the Sparks have the most talent of any team in the WNBA. At worse its at least equal to Phoenix and Minnesota.

Good question. Lack of defense is a big part of it. Overrated and underachieving?

Parker is a 2-time MVP, but has yet to win a WNBA championship. Her team is in last place.

They don't play good defense.

Guard play is terrible. Absolutely no consistent three point threat, even with Tolliver. Defense is horrible and that is surprising since Harding, Beard, and Harrington are all known more for their defense than offense (although Harrington has been better than others). They have no half court offense and generally give the ball to Parker on the perimeter with seconds left on the shot clock. The last game I watched it was six possessions in a row and she hit 2-5 and got fouled on another play. Parker and Nneka need help. Lavendar has improved a lot but they need new guards and I have been saying this for the last three years. The best teams have the best collection of guards (thats the women's game in general) and maybe Beard and Harding 4 or 5 years ago (or before Beard went through her major injuries) would've been considered one of the best tandems but they are far from it now. Wiggins may help them when she gets healthly but KML would shine on the LA team and she would be home which I think she would probably love. Parker and Nneka would love to have a three point shooter so they can actually go to work in the post on offense.

Kaleena is a forward, not a guard. A sublime scorer, yes, both in the paint and especially from beyond the arc. She could help LA, but if they need guards to run the floor, KML is not the answer.

There is such a thing as TOO MUCH TALENT! There are not enough basket balls allowed to satisfy all these super egos! I do not include Nneka Ogwumike in the egos but Parker, Tolliver, Harding, Beard, Lavender.
I have never been able to like the LA Sparks or the LA Lakers, too many "Large Personalities!"

Not at all.

Beard has been pretty damn good this year and very consistent.

Harding has just been cold.

Not many "Large Personalities" playing for the Lakers this year. Most of them were on the Injured list.

As usual, my thoughts were all over the place and sorry for the confusion. To make myself more clear... they need better guard play but they also need a consistent three point threat. They don't have that with the current guards they have but KML would give them that, even though she is not a guard. They would still need to address the point guard spot but Harding could benefit as well from having someone be able to stretch the defense because she is pretty good when she can get into the middle of the lane and put up floaters or dish the ball out. Defense may be their biggest issue though.

As for large personality problems I think thats just what people want to believe. Parker, Taurasi, Nolan, Gruda, and a few other big names play for UMMC Ekaterinburg in Russia and they are very successful. I have yet to hear about any teammate having an issue with Candace and she along with Sheryl Swoopes and Seimone Augustus are probably the most genuine players I have ever met in person. I just don't buy the ego issue because there is no actual evidence of it.

They won yesterday. My dvr recorded the game even though I didn't set it to. lol

Beard was almost invisible in the game scoring-wise. The team as a whole played good defense for once. I think that's the key for them. If they play good defense and get the defensive rebound then they're able to run the fast break. That's how I saw them beat the Lynx last season. When they had to slow down yesterday they either rushed shots at the end of the clock or got called for a shot clock violation.

NBA TV shows games they don't advertise so they must add them at the last minute or something.
