Tennessee game is still 2 weeks away...I think there's a real chance cases are significantly fewer by then.I actually would not be surprised if the TN game got canceled as well - OOC games are not as important as conference games and Uconn currently has three more of those that were 'postponed/canceled'. Yes, Uconn's OOC is much more interesting than the conference games in general but the first things to win each year are the conference regular season and conference titles. For teams in more competitive conferences it is even more important to get the conference games in.
I was saying we didn't know who would have been available for the South Carolina game. Everyone knows why it was cancelled. This has nothing to do with Covid.
SC has a replacement game scheduled for Thursday against Miss
Of course. As a Gamecock fan, I'm extremely disappointed. I took Thursday and Friday off this week so I could get to the game early and not have to rush after work. Of course, if you take Thursday off, you also have to take Friday off, lol.
Supply chain issues led to know basketball being availableWeird why do they have a replacement game?
I believe they have agreed to play croquet as the “replacement game.”What even is a "replacement" game?
Not a measuring stick at all. No attack but a blessing in disguise. Not a chance with out some of the walking wounded. There have already been four other measuring sticks. One of the few games on the schedule against a measuring stick opponent. Another disappointment in this !@#$ season.
Badda Bing Badda Boom.......We just had one of those last Monday.

Not at all just the right thing to do. If one game being moved is bad for women's basketball ...While this is a good thing for UCONN at this point in time... it is bad for Women's Basketball...
Then the sport stands no chance. The original game with Ole Miss was canceled because of COVID within Ole Miss' program. USC played Mississippi State in their place, but we needed to make up the game with Ole Miss, thus the game against them this Thursday.Covid

I'm not expecting it to be cancelled, but as of now that would be on UConn. It has nothing to do with how prevalent Covid might be, but making up games that were previously cancelled.Tennessee game is still 2 weeks away...I think there's a real chance cases are significantly fewer by then.
I think the Tennessee game is huge game for both programs. For UCONN, it's effectively their last shot to get a marquee win that would cement them as a top 4 seed, otherwise they're on the bubble for hosting first weekend. For Tennessee, it could be a major statement road win and cement their status as a likely #1 seed, even if they drop to SC and another game. Plus above all of that, it's UCONN/Tennessee. The match up would get a ton of viewers, lots of ESPN coverage, and there would be a packed arena.
Or in MarchWe’ll see you next year.![]()

I agree 100%. Arguably UCONN's top 3 players are out which has caused the team to completely change it's style of play. There is no measuring stick. Some of our best players are out and that includes arguably the best women's college basketball player. We shouldn't be measuring ourselves against anyone right now. The goal should be to survive and get healthy and stay healthy.
Geno had already said she wouldn’t play on Thursday. The Depaul game would be better. Having it one day earlier may well have implications on Christyn being ready.
you do realize they were full strength when South Carolina won right? This is a good thing... saves us a shorthanded loss...and makes us dangerous when we meet the Gamecocks at full strength in the tourney.![]()
I knew those cowards would find a way to avoid losing to UConn this week. So sad that Carolina has to hide behind "reschedules" to avoid getting the beat down of a lifetime from the Husky's. I guess staying number one is so important that you will cancel a game with UConn rather then drop in the standings. I feel bad for our girls who were going to use the demolition of USC as a spring board to number 12.
I’ll drink what you’ve having...I don't think Dawn Staley wants to beat UConn twice during the regular season, giving UConn all kinds of motivation to beat SC in late March/April after everyone is healthy.
SC is giving back a huge gate. Two years ago the were 18,000 people at the UConn game. Something just doesn't smell right
Well, you would be wrong.I disagree wholeheartedly.
Although SC is much better than DePaul, I think it is more critical for CW to play in this game. SC is an inside oriented team, where as Depaul is a perimeter team that lives for the 3's. We will need another defensive minded guard in that game to try to slow them down. Nika and Evena playing 40 minutes will not be able to keep up with them. We may think playing DePaul instead of SC is a break, but let us not fool ourselves, it could be a pretty big challenge.Well, you would be wrong.
This game wouldn't have helped either team. DePaul is more of a measuring stick for where UCONN is right now.
Ok, I won't lecture you on the evils of binge drinking because I think your post was tongue in cheek.I knew those cowards would find a way to avoid losing to UConn this week. So sad that Carolina has to hide behind "reschedules" to avoid getting the beat down of a lifetime from the Husky's. ONO has always played Boston well defensively. I get the SEC channels where I live and I suspect Boston was not looking forward to Liv guarding her.I'm good with this. One less probable loss. I was anxious to see the new Liv play Boston but the officiating would likely not be even handed down there. Plus, we are worn down. We need to regroup and get healthy as soon as we can. Let's just win out from here including UT and get a 2 seed ( or a 3 if necessary) and cause some major chaos.
I totally agree with Staley, conference games mean a whole lot more than nonconference games. Uconn should beWe just had one of those last Monday.
See that's the difference between the two programs. A UCONN fan would be at work bright and early on Friday, trying to improve every aspect of their work and career. Also, it's pay day.As a Gamecock fan, I'm extremely disappointed. I took Thursday and Friday off this week so I could get to the game early and not have to rush after work. Of course, if you take Thursday off, you also have to take Friday off, lol.
They’re long time friend, fellow Philadelphians. I’m pretty sure he recruited Dawn to Virginia when he was an assistant there
