OT: Songs About Strong Moods and Emotions

A very homesick 15 yr old Mexican girl attending music college in Boston had an assignment to write an original song.
She was unable to come up with anything until the night before the song was due:
When I'm Alone - The Warning. Live

"Full of color on the outside
But I'm only seeing black and white
I'm desperate for some light
In the corners of my mind
Having hope but not enough
Reaching out to find no one
Am I the only soul to have lost all control?.......

I'm about to tear off this page
But it's something I can't erase
I wish I could rewrite the story of my life
Will I hide every day
Behind the mask of pain
They say I'm not alone, but do they even know?"

Dream Theater made an album about a past-life regression and murder called Metroplois Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory. It's chock-full of emotion but I think this one takes the prize. It's about the main character's guilt -- realization that the murder didn't occur as had been reported, and that he has so much more in this life than in the previous life when his/her life had been cut short.

Live version of 'The Gael' with the composer, Dougie MacLean.
Probably better known as the soundtrack to The Last Of The Mohicans.

As far as mood and emotions, I think it's best summed up by this fella in the comments for the vid:
"if you hear on the news a man seen running down the road, jumping over gutters and cars, with a musket in hand, wearing headphones, looking for a damsel in distress, its just me after a few scotches listening to this on repeat. makes me all sad and uplifted and peaceful and anxious all at once.."
