A couple points to piggyback off this thread
1. Omar simply has to never dribble to pass, ever again. It seems like 80% of his passes off the dribble are turnovers. Its a stunning percentage I would love for some stat geek to crunch that. He can hit those floaters, but his game HAS TO BE spotup J's and two dribble floaters. That's it.
2. That was an AWESOME play design by Ollie to get Niels that corner three. Just beautiful. Huge momentum play. We need to be running 5 of those a game for Niels.
3. There was some SPOTTY freaking officiating. I mean, every time we touched someone in the post it was a foul. ridiculous.
4. As a continuation of #3, can someone teach our bigs to either USE THE FOULS BY HAMMERING PEOPLE, or learn to play vertical and avoid fouling. Nolan, Brimah, and Olander are stuck in no-mans land. They are both NOT contesting shots AND giving up +1's. We must have had 10 of those last night and they are killing us.
5. As a continuation of #4, our post defense is epically terrible. We are "average" at protecting the rim against drives, but have been absolutely gouged by simple 1-1 post up moves. All the NCSTATE dudes were killing us, and Patrick just destroyed us down the stretch. Olander can physically hold up with strength but has no lateral mobility, Brimah gets pushed under the rim continually because he lacks bulk and Nolan combines the worst traits of O and Brimah. We need to find an answer here this will continue to erode our defense all year.
Aside from those things, GREAT FREAKING GAME. Bazztastic!
